Actually based on the notifications I receive looks like I joined a Google Group bitd. Sadly the Google groups are gone too. I too lament the inevitable evolution of social media. I'm too old and set in my ways for all of this tik tok shenanigans and whatnot...

LASFS: The Los Angeles Science Fiction Society. It's both a fan group and also the management organization for a science-fiction convention that happens around Thanksgiving-time. (LOSCon). At the least, it was big in the 1980's, when I lived in the area, but it's been a few decades since I've had any contact with them.
Also, they warlock people are still communicating on a googlegroups.com address. They apparently aren't /completely/ gone.

Google told us that the deleted all the google groups, where do you find them and why do they exist, all the ones I knew about are gone?

I'm not sure - I just know that I'm still regularly receiving emails from that Google Group. If you want to check www.google.com/appsstatus/dashboard/ - Google groups is still listed as up and running. Pure speculation: perhaps this is a new incarnation of the service? I /do/ remember hearing that they'd be deleted, but never followed past that point.
