I have a blog which I started back in 2009. I did not post much though for several years. Last year 2020 was my most prolific year yet and I hope to reach about that level of posting again this year. If I have any regret at all, it is that I did not have a website and did not start both the blog and this forum back around 1996 or at least around 2000 at the latest. The Ruins of MurkhillWhat blogs do I enjoy? Lots of blogs, way more than I have time to consistently read. One of the things I would like to do later this year is review some of my favorite blogs, so I will defer my comments until then. But this is good, it means you could still start a blog and get onto my favorites list if you start now.  |

Oh, one other regret, that I did not start writing D&D related essays back in 1975 so that by the time the Internet showed up and I first got online I would have had millions of words ready to go.

I do not have a blog, neither do I have plans to ever have one, but I do like to read blogs and I would disagree with those who claim blogs are over. I think blogs have a lot of mileage left in them.

Not many of us have blogs, seems like it would be a lot of hassle to run a blog, I would much rather read one than try to work on one.

Yeah, I only have so much time and I can spend it blogging or gaming, so I choose gaming. Now I read blogs and forums, because I can read a whole lot faster than I can write. |

Writing a blog is not for me, but I have a few that I read. PDs blog and a couple of older blogs like Zenopus Archives.

I have several blogs, based on interests. My gaming blog is These Old Games and would probably of the most interest to those reading here. It's a mashup of ideas, session notes and reviews.
I also run Unpwnd.com, which is about better life through better technology and methods. My third blog is more local, The 716 Exchange, which is about cool things found in Western New York.
I have a fourth blog coming soon. I won't share details until it launches. Right now I just have a Hello World post, so there is not much to see.

Wow, a Mac Plus, that was the first computer I ever used and it was the easiest and most trouble free computer I have ever used. I used it for two years at work and had zero crashes, zero freezes and not one of the problems I've had with computers since. What is the premise of Friday Night Death Slots or is that a surprise to be unveiled later? The premise I am working on is to bring in my history background into gaming. There will be a weekly podcast or video, talking about historical events and how that plays into D&D. The idea is to use history to fuel gaming. Obviously, I know history and gaming. Want to see if retelling old stories can fuel gaming, throw twists in plot lines and new campaign settings.
Of course, it's a bit tongue in cheek. The Friday Night Death slot is where you put things to die. Maybe it will flop. I don't know.

I mainly post about gaming related stuff but there are other topics such as horror movies, fan films, and maybe a wrestling post here and there. Some months I post a ton and some I kind of coast; summers at my job is super busy AND I have a big gap of a few years when I went through a divorce and really just said to hell with it. I'm working on getting back in the groove now. |
