I haven't seen that website or the fanzine in ages, I'll have to download them and take a look. We should do a fanzine around here once the forum gets humming again.

I would love to do a fanzine, but I would need a lot of help, those are not as easy as they look. Yeah, we need articles from multiple people, although I would read it if you did the whole thing. We would also need some artists and someone who could pull the whole thing into a good looking pdf. I am going to split this off into its own thread. |

I'm in favor of a fanzine. What would it be called? Well we should hear from The Perilous Dreamer on that, my guess would be The Ruins of Murkhill Old School Fanzine or something of that nature. Or he could take suggestions, whatever TPD picks I would be good with. |

OK, I voted yes for a fanzine, I will read it.
I also voted pay what you want, which means for most people it would be free, but if some people kick in a little, it might help TPD stay online. I would kick in a little as a pay what you want.
I vote that TPD and/or the forum staff (since TPD and any of us would not be around forever, retain rights to publish as a pdf and possibly a POD forever. At the same time contributors of art and articles retain full rights to publish and/or sell anywhere.

I am all for this and definitely a pay what you want 'zine for the pdf. However, I would give TPD the right to change to a paid format for best of issues or even just the 'zine itself at some point.

All contributors retain full rights to publish anywhere else they choose.
This is IMO an absolute, since people would be donating content, there would never be restrictions on what they do with their own content. But with no limit to the 'zine being reprinted indefinitely in any form. Also includes the right for TPD or his successors to create collections and best of compilations and so on.

I would be good with the name The Ruins of Murkhill Old School Fanzine, but I am more than open to suggestions on that point.
Obviously a variety of people to contribute articles would be needed. This could not be just a monologue.
I would want to have articles on hand to fill at least two issues before publishing the first issue as a show of commitment.
That does not mean two articles from everyone, but that would be nice.
I would want advice and assistance from members who have experience with a fanzine.
Help with finding public domain art is needed, I would be looking myself, but help would be needed. Any original art would be awesome, especially (or at least) for a monthly cover.
Of course, editing, proofreading, layout and converting the finished product to a pdf and possibly making it POD ready would definitely be needed.
