If there is something homebrewed posted elsewhere on the forum and you would like to add it to the game, for instance a spell. Then post it here for vetting and I will let you know if it can be done.

Thunder Kick L0 When you miss a melee attack roll, you may cast this cantrip as a free action to make a kick attack at the same bonus to hit and do a fixed d6 damage(no modifications to damage roll.
This is one of my favs I invented. It was distributed by publishing the spell in a "newspaper"

This is one of my favs I invented. It was distributed by publishing the spell in a "newspaper" Hmm, I am loathe to have cantrips do damage, especially a full d6. And after a melee attack by a magic-user has failed, they get a free action to cast a spell seems a bit much to me. Even a spell cast before you enter melee to give you a second attack with a kick after your staff or dagger attack fails is way too powerful for a cantrip. You are making a magic-user with no fighter training better than a first level Fighting Man, seems like it should be at least a second level spell to me. Comments?

If you drill down on this you first must be in melee, second you must miss and I didn't think about the difference in systems, so ya d6 is too much(d4?) in actual gaming , the vast majority of mages who memorize this use it quite infrequently.

(I am enjoying arguing about my spells)
Preserve L2 Mage duration 24 hours or discharge cast touch on self or other
The next time you take damage Preserve calls up a force field of purple energy. The Damage is ignored, whiether it is stubbing your toe, bitten by a mosquito, or a 50 point fireball. Protection is discharged when used.
Rhino Skin L2 This spell is not cast it presents a barrier always stopping 1 point of damage from every incoming source.(compare to invisibility and Mirror Image)

In OD&D you cannot cast in melee, if you do the opponent is attacking a completely undefended spell caster and if he touches you the spell is disrupted. Since you are not defending with a weapon as you are casting a spell, he will get a bonus to hit you.

Expand on Rhino Skin, is it a spell or a magic item, if it is a spell it must be cast. Explain more detail.
