In other words, is your fantasy game on planet Earth? Mine never are in fantasy. Thoughts? From 1975 till now, my game worlds have never been Earth.

I've never set a Dungeons & Dragons game on Earth-- I just don't see them as compatible-- but most of my favorite non-D&D games-- Shadowrun, Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, and Street Fighter-- are set on Earth by default. Most of my work is set on original worlds, but my Cascade City setting is based on (and around) Earth in the late 22nd Century-- think "urban fantasy" but rip out all of the Gothic Horror guts and replace them with wuxia/xianxia, cyberpunk, and planetary romance guts. Lots of guts. More organs means more human, Earthboy.

I never set my games on this earth. If I ran a Hyborian game it would be an alternate earth.

I set my games on earth where the myths are all real.

I set my games on earth where the myths are all real. That goes along with something I may work on. Cryptids.

I never set my game on earth, because there is always one smart ass that wants to comment on some detail you either missed or did not feel was important enough to mention.

That goes along with something I may work on. Cryptids. What are these Cryptids? They are semi mythological creatures in modern day, big foot, chupacabra etc.

They are semi mythological creatures in modern day, big foot, chupacabra etc. Those are all real, I have seen quite a few of them myself. Big foot is a friendly creature if you approach him right. Most are about 7-8 feet tall, but the really big ones go all the way to 12 feet tall. Further north where there is dependable snow, they turn white in the winter, but further south in most of the USA, they tend to be more grayish in the winter. They use spears and clubs as their primary weapons, but now and then you will see one with axes or machetes that they have stolen from humans.

I have no interest in setting my game world on earth, IMO a lot more fun (for me) to make up the whole thing.

Na, I don't earth, I Terra or Tellus. I have always like Tellus. Earthling vs Tellurian, I will take the second every time and we won't worry about where the "r" in Tellurian comes from. Of course both Tellus and Tellurian have been co-opted as business names now.

Another reply to this:
Earth is our conception of the surface on which we live. In some times and places it has been flat. In some, a sphere, and now, we have various conceptions that we use as needed, for scientific or imaginative purposes. Tolkien went pretty far, imagining a fictional history for the present day (or working his fiction into the history of our own planet).
So I might say that any fictional place is the Earth on which a particular imaginative reality has its existence. If people, or people-like creatures live there, it's Earth.
