Based upon material from Dave Hargrave assembled and expanded upon by various members of Emperors Choice Games

Much like the other Arduin Grimoires this is digest sized. It is perfect bound glossy soft cover slightly larger in outside dimensions: 9 1/4" x 6 1/8". Exterior steps away from the Aurduin meme by boasting glossy red covers with black & white art. Book is 108 pages, black on white paper, no parchment styling. Page three contains the Table of Contents, the previous pages being introductions and dedications. The back page is blank, perhaps for personal campaign notes? Over all this book gives me the impression the publisher had some incomplete Hargrave notes and material available, just enough to publish a final volume in the final trilogy of grimoires. I obtained this a few years back from Emperor Choice Games in the Buffalo, NY area. I believe their website still exists however am uncertain as to the actual status of the company at this time.

I really need to remedy the lack of Arduin material in my collection. The list of contents for the books tells me right away that Arduin is not your typical fantasy gaming world. I've always been intrigued but somehow never bought any of the stuff.

The Grimoires 1-3 (the best source material, a homebrew based on OD&D), along with The Arduin Adventure are available now as one pdf bundle on Drivethrurpg. That's the cheapest entry point (it's where I began recollecting).
Otherwise hard copy versions usually are very expensive.
I'm working on putting out two links (soon, look in the thread named Arduin material from The Wayback Machine) from one of David Hargrave's former players that explain how he used the material.
The Complete Arduin (different system reflecting D. Hargraves later homebrew), written by another of Hargrave's players, are also available there.
Drivethrurpg also has free Arduin material, but in this instance you get what you pay for.

I did not know that there was free Arduin material on DriveThruRPG, do you have any links or how to search for it?

BTW you are being too hard on yourself about your writing.

simrion any chance that you might write some summaries or commentary on each of these titles? No obligation to do so and if you can no time frame required. There are several sections that intrigue me even if they are not entirely Dave's work.

RE: Dungeons and Why the Authorities Don't Shut Them Down

I have two thoughts about this, one is that they are out beyond where the authorities power holds sway and/or two, Dungeons (being very deadly) are a way to kill off the kind of folks that might pose a threat to the authorities, let the most adventurous, the most dissatisfied, the self-starters and those with leadership skills from the lower classes kill themselves off and the ones that don't die, that are successful can be brought into the fold. Also all of those younger and youngest sons of nobility and royalty need an outlet that does not involve trying to replace their older brother or other older relative that stands between them and power. A high mortality rate is the authorities friend and those that survive and bring back wealth now have something to lose and their perspective will change.
