I made this little town for the current OSR game I'm DMing, and I decided I want to turn it into a Zine!
I'm very excited about it, but also very busy right now and nervous I wont get it done before zinequest starts
(btw are any of you guys making stuff for zinequest?)
Here is a rough sketch of the map for the town:
There is a aquatic themed dungeon under the lake. And some other interesting things in hex's nearby.
The town is a very sad town, as you can tell from the labels.
In the zine I'm planning on including content like :
- Some random encounter tables
- Some new monsters
- The Above mentioned Dungeon
- NPC relationship web (in a graphic)
- A puzzle for Haggard Henge
- A mystery to be solved up river
- Key NPC's with desires, fears and mannerisms
- The contents of the shop (through artwork)
- Random rumors for the Inn as well as food and drink tables
- The above mentioned keyed nearby Hex's
- Some history for the town
- Organization structure for the society of the town (in a graphic)
- Changes and sets of events that happen over time
- Random things you might find in and around the town table
But maybe these things will change as I get into making the content or approach deadlines
Maybe I will post more content here as I make it.
To make the zine I am using :
Pen and ink for illustration
Scribus for layout
Blender for 3D mockups
Gimp to draw over the 3D mockups, & clean up scans
A graphics tablet and pen
Libre office for writing and tables
Adobe acrobat pro and distiller for premedia
Inkscape for additional graphics
ImageMagick for converting images to cmyk for print
