I have never used it, but I have looked through several of the clones quite a bit. My biggest objections to S&W are that if you were to publish and claim compatibility to S&W you would be forced to dual stat the AC and even worse in my mind they changed the prime requisite for a Paladin from a 17 or 18 Charisma to a Strength of 13 or better. For my taste, if I were going to run an OD&D clone it would be in alphabetical order Delving Deeper, Iron Falcon, and Seven Voyages of Zylarthen. Of course, in my case I would just house rule them to the same thing I do now. The two main reasons to use a retro clone are to make the rules legally accessible to your players and/or to be able to publish. Since I like for my players to not have the rules and if I decide to publish I will write my own clone... Given all of the above, here is, IMO, the best way to pick a clone. Find the one whose font is the easiest for you to read and then house-rule it to what you want. Some of them have the advantage of being available in an editable file and that makes it easy to custom tweak (including the font).

S&W is my go to OD&D clone. I started with Core and the Supplemental Lore book and now use Complete. The only thing I really don't like about it is the treasure generation system as it is confusingly written. Hopefully the new version coming will address that issue.
