The main characters strike me as quite a bit like PCs, especially the principle protagonist Vanessa Van Helsing (portrayed by Kelly Overton). I guess this shouldn't be surprising, since the show is based on the graphic novels of the same name.
Anyway, in the most recent episode, Vanessa is being her usual headstrong, impetuous self [e.g. thus the resemblance to PCs . . .], plunging fearlessly ahead. Of course, she has superhuman strength (able to punch her way through a steel security door . . . over the course of several seconds, anyway) and heals very fast (her battered hands are perfectly fine mere moments later).
Faced with a building likely harboring a nest of vampires, Vanessa tells the leader of a village she's sorta of helping out, "You and the rest stay here. The two of us [Vanessa and her ex-vampire, ex-prizefighter sidekick] will go check it out."
Frustrated leader to sidekick: "Does she always plan this well?"
Sidekick, striding off in Vanessa's wake: "She's a Van Helsing. That's her plan."
