With the 1000 year cycles of civalaation/barbarism, I want the world to have a very low magic setting after playing the relatively high magic of Mysantia.
One of the few really great ideas from 4th ed, was the various types of consumables, most notably reagents(items for enhancing spells). Would love for you guys to help on this one. Let's rock disposable!

4) Coffee Bean> when placed in a mug or pot, the bean fills the container with hot coffee. You must wet the bean but not fill the container w water. Varients exist that are milk, OJ wine, beer etc. zthe coffee will be flavored w milk and 2 sugers, you cannot create one w hazelnut flaver(it summons demons)

5) Wild Flower Arcane reagent. When used to augment a mage spell that has a visual component, you can change that component to any visual effect you can imagine. The only restriction is that the visual component will fit inside what ever the perimeters of the spell is, lasts for 3 spells.

6) Mana Bread> takes 3 rounds to eat, usable by any spell casting class. Iafter eaten, restores d3 spell levels of spells to memory. Spells must be chosen from spells memorized in the last 24 hours. Also provides 2 day of foodfor anyone who eats it.

8) the Magic Banana> This item has 2 functions you eat the banana and it expels tiredness and exhaustion. The peel can then be used like the spell Grease. Both fubction only once and you must eat the banana to get the peel to work.

Cardboard creation> looks like a small piece of white cardboard but what ever you draw on it comes to exist, albeit a single piece of card board, castles and ships are possible

10) Timing Candle. These itms are atuned to each other and come in pairs. Once lit they burn for a specific amonnt of time depending on how they are created. Available in 3 round 1 turn, 1 hour and 1 day.

11) Magic Doorknob> This powerful item commands huge prices when placed on the open market. What it does is, when placed on a wall, a door is formed and possibly a hallway that allows beings to pass through. The wall can be no more than 10 feet thick to create a hallway. More and less powerful versions are often found. Highly sought after by adventurers, spy's and army's.

Disposable magic items can be very powerful
Backwards ring.In the early 80s I attended a lot of conventions. One of the groups, that ran tournaments, that I was fond of used the same 5th level over and over. I learned that the cleric had an item that I really liked and picked this char a lot.
It was a ring that turned back time 5 rounds, restarting encounters. I abused the crap out of it. I wish I could give them credit but my memory is not the best
