I had one extremely successful one. I ran my all time fav player in a Starr Trek game, taking security Cadet Horst Boch to Klingon Admiral. Bill was my fav player for a kind of strange reason , he never grasped any rules we ever played and RPed sort of in spite of the rules.
Anybody else?

I have run solo OD&D games for a computer game player that I had. With only one player you can cover a huge amount of stuff since there is no discussion between players and it is all breakneck pace.

I've used it as a writing tool, but the stories were junk and it took to long to get far with it.

I've used it as a writing tool, but the stories were junk and it took to long to get far with it. That's a shame, I found solo games very fun, I also ran one for a guy to be the Conan of a low fantasy zero level world, it was a lot of fun.(online)

I assumed that the question was about solitare. As far as One on One games, with one player and one DM, that is a ton of fun if it is done correctly.

As far as One on One games, with one player and one DM, that is a ton of fun if it is done correctly. The second was what I assumed and they are a ton of fun with the right player. But I ran mine for a very indecisive player, so in the beginning it was torture, but at least it was not holding up other players or worse having them ignore his character. But it worked out really good because I was gradually able to teach him to be a decisive player instead of overthinking everything. He had pretty good instincts once he allowed himself to really play. I have never run a solitaire game for myself. Maybe I will have to do that and start a thread on it after I have got it worked out.

I have run One on One games, but never a solitaire game. details...... I ran solo games for my first grandchild starting when she was about 4 years old IIRC. She took to it like a duck to water. When she was 6 and her brother was 4, it ceased to be a solo game. She started with a Lawful Fighting-Man with a two Clerics as Henchman. She later on was a Paladin and her Brother was a Cleric, they built a combined strong hold and had a considerable force at their disposal. We played a lot of 2-3 hour games (I was enlisted to keep them busy). They would periodically go through the villages around the stronghold and do a lot of healing. They came up with spells that would let them heal one or two hit points or minor illnesses for up to 30 zero levels at a time. Spells like Vanquish Vermin to get rid of pests in the villages and things like that. The villages grew into towns and they mentored many young clerics.

I ran numerous solo games both before I stopped gaming for almost a decade and a few after I got back into gaming again. I mainly ran Cyberspace games with a few poor examples of fantasy as my heart wasn’t in it, which I regret though the Cyberspace ones went well.

On my creation bucket list is making a detailed system for adventures in cyberspace with a emphasis on software.
