My gaming budget isn't very big, but that's okay cause I prefer do-it-yourself gaming. This year, I think that the only thing that I purchased that is gaming related was "Tony Bath's Ancient Wargaming", which I love and am using to set up my own campaign world. I had purchased the digital copy, but I was so impressed with what I read that I wanted a physical book so that I could reference it easier. I don't like to use the computer at the table, and when I do my prep I already have enough windows open. I also like the way that it looks on my shelf I start my new job on Monday, so I'll be able to save up some money for something nice. I've got my eye on a new vinyl playmat. The one that I am using now was given to me for free because they had accidentally used a permanent marker on the poor thing. I tried to clean it up, but it resists everything that I've thrown at it.

My collector's side and my do-it-yourself/creative side are always in constant struggle. That said, the fact that I buy stuff doesn't mean I'm gonna use it for play. I love seeing the books on the shelves, handling them, smelling them, skimming through them and, occasionally, when there's enough time, reading them. I love everything related with D&D from the TSR era (plus Judges Guild!), yeah, including the 90s. I admit that I like having the corebooks for the later editions (except the one that shall not be named). That said, my favourite system is OD&D, although the fact that I use the content within the 3LBBs loosely and that I adpat the rules to my campaign world is making me think of it just as Ildar (my campaign world's name), instead of D&D (so, in the same fashion as in the first days, where people played Blackmoor or Greyhawk... so cool! ). I'm not a wargamer myself, since I'm late to the hobby, but would like to get into it some day... Don't know when, since I don't know anyone here in my native Spain or where I live in Germany who likes to play these kinds of games. I've bought a bunch of stuff through eBay auctions, mostly. The best bargains you can get, for sure (like 'City State of the Invincible Overlord for 25$). This year I've got things like several splatbooks for 2e, the El Raja Key Archive, the Castles & Crusades White Box (#74 of 300, limited edition, it was appealing to me as it was the system Gary chose to publish his Greyhawk dungeons, although it never came to fruition since he passaed away), Rolemaster 2e, the Northern Reaches Gazetteer, or the 1st printing of the DM's screen for 1e. Now I'll let my bank account rest for two months

I backed the Game Stamps Kickstarter and The Secrets of Blackmoor Video and now am just waiting on each of those to be fullfilled. Eager anticipation. I am really looking forward to using the Game Stamps to make maps. The great thing about these is that as he creates new stamps, you can go back and add more details to the maps. The other is that you can make barebones maps and scan them, then go ahead and flesh them out.

No new RPG stuff unless you count printing out my OD&D PDFs. Not buying much outside Old School RPG zines like Black Pudding. All my gaming stuff will be DIY from now on.

I bought Fours by T&T author Ken St. Andre. I haven't played it yet, but I always have cards with me (in my backpack, two decks in fact) and I can run a quick pickup game if I ever have to fill some table time.
I also backed the revised Mercenaries, Spies, and Private Eyes kickstarter, though I've yet to receive it.

In regards to the lbb, I assume that you are refering to the three original D&D pamplets (I'm not cool), I can send you a my copy if you want. I know that you already paid for it.

I haven't bought anything for quite a while. How many and which issues of Alarums & Excursions do you own now? I feel you - I am definitely gonna be in a dry spell for the rest of the year, most likely. I now have issues 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 34, 38, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 53, 55, 57, 58, 59, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 84, 97, 148, & 308. They should about cover the Arduin content in A&E.

Some public libraries participate in the ZipBooks program, in which library patrons can request that their library acquire a particular book (not already in their catalog) & ship it directly to the patron to borrow for several months. When a patron is done, they bring the book back to the library, which might keep it in the stacks or resell it. I used ZipBooks to get a copy of Bath’s book. You should see whether any public libraries near you participate in ZipBooks.

I'm now selling some stuff from the newer editions that I don't really want. They sell easily and can get a bunch of money back. Some of it I may use in getting new products. My latest acquisition: Outdoor Geomorphs Set One: Walled City. It makes me so sad that they stopped it there... This kind of aids and accessories I think are among the things that I like the most. Better than modules and campaign settings IMHO. Apart from that, since I started with the hobby much later than most of the people on this boards, I'm doing some catchup, so I'm expecting a bundle of old Dragon and Pegasus magazines

I am not sure whether there is much of a resale market for physical copies of A&E; the Golds continue to sell PDFs of all back issues for about $2.00 a pop, so they aren’t hard to come by. Now, the completist might want prints from the original runs, but I don’t recall seeing anybody asking for original print issues. My own interest in back issues of A&E is informational (for current gaming purposes & historical interest), however, so I could be oblivious to the collector side of things.
