Necromancer said, "Drakar & Demoner (meaning "Dragons & Demons") was the first Swedish RPG." I'd love to discuss this! Is there any objection if this post is moved to its own area in the simulacrum folder??? Checked out the Monsterboken. One of the neatest pictures of a dwarf I've seen yet... I love it!! Also... I really dig the visual of the basalisk! Immediately conjures the idea of an admixture of the basalisk and cockatrice in one creature!! Does it play out that way in-game?? The inclusion of a winged-elf race is neat, too. I noticed a "PSI" stat in the block. Is that something akin to wisdom, or rather some psionic attribute?

I'd love to discuss this further, merctime - but I'm not sure the Simulacra folder would be the right place since Drakar & Demoner is a skill based RPG based on the BRP rules engine, as opposed to the level based D&D and its different editions and clones. I'll guess we'll have to let Admin Pete decide where it belongs! I'm glad you liked the art, as I'm a huge fan myself - personally I find the dwarf pic in the rulebook even better than the one in Monsterboken - but it sure is a cool pic! It's not easy distinguishing between the basilisk and the cockatrice, they're quite similar and it has the ability to turn people into stone using its gaze. The winged elf (silveralv, meaning "silver elf") is pretty odd. I've never played one myself, but I recall having a player being rather fascinated by them back in the day. You're correct about the PSY ability in the stat block, it's equivalent of Wisdom. The stat block explained and translated would look like this: STY=Styrka--->Strength STO=Storlek--->Size FYS=Fysik--->Constitution SMI=Smidighet--->Dexterity INT=Intelligens--->Intelligence PSY=Psykisk kraft--->Wisdom ("Psychic ability or power") KAR=Karisma--->Charisma Those abilities sound rather familiar, huh?

Reminds me of Runequest!! My best wishes and prayers to your ill family members, brother! I don't have time to say much more than this; I need to get ready for work soon. But... "I'll be back"

You're absolutely right, merctime. Both games are based on the BRP rules system, which is also to be found in games like Call of Cthulhu and Stormbringer.
