Ok as requested by Crimhthan The Great , I present my fav way to cheat. I make puzzles that I have no idea how to solve it, I can only remember 2 that I have used
First up is Chrystal Boxes, A magic Item is suspended in a large clear crystal box. I'll make up hieroglyphics or have some items in the room with them: a bell, pipe really anything. I let them struggle for a while until I am happy with their Idea , and then the box shatters.
Next up is the Wall of Wonder Image , I place them in the ectoplasmic tunnels which are gating them to another plane. They started beating on it with swords, and it came to me, they need to use blunt weapons .
