This thread is just for random ideas of any kind.
OD&D - Challenge game
Players start on a Prison Planet and they are the first batch of prisoners from all worlds. They've heard the stories, this is a rugged planet with ferocious plant and animal life. There are plants that are carnivorous and the animals that are herbivores are no pushovers. There have been a dozen failed attempts to colonize this planet, all of them with no survivors. Under treaty banning capital punishment Federation wide, the Federation and all of its allied races are all going to send there worst criminals here. They have the clothes on their backs, a single knife with an 8 inch blade (the knife is so that the authorities can say tell the public that they were fully equipped to survive and their memories are wiped of what their crime was (all that they know is that it was bad enough to land them here). Every 30 days all member races will set the latest batch of prisoners down at least 50 miles from any other batch. Each batch will be 200 in number.
Once dropped off, they are completely on their own and no help or reprieve will ever be given.

OD&D game set in Edgar Rice Burroughs Pellucidar at the Center of the Earth with the most civilized parts excised. The PCs got there the Jules Verne way.

Here's one I almost used for a Cthulhu game ...The PCs all wake up in a morgue. They all have no memory of who they are and all written information on them in the morgue refers to them as john or jane doe number what-have-you. Their clothes and small personal effects are available, but all of their ID cards have been removed or were missing when they got there. obviously the first part of the mystery is who they all are, the second part is why were they in a morgue, and the third part ... well, lets just say that sunlight is particularly painful and they all bleed a yellow mucus ...
