You could do it with only one city standing, that could make the corps extra powerful, but you prob could do a whole continent w the rest of the world, Conan or Mad Max I was thinking of something like that as well. You see that if you read the Battle Angel Alita manga or Judge Dredd with the isolated Mega cities & Post-Apocalyptic wastelands beyond the city borders teaming with mutants & such. Love Dredd, great Idea! |

I personally like shortly after or fifteen years just long enough to vegetation to start reclaiming things but soon enough that civilization hasn't really established itself and the characters can be youngsters out exploring trying to scavange the ruins of aworld gone mad.

I like to have several hundred years or even longer where they have clawed their way back to a viable community that is starting to rediscover things.
