Official Nostalgia Thread for the 1970's alumni

I am not even sure now where I started that the following of links led me to this Official Nostalgia Thread at ENWorld that was started back on Friday, 29th July, 2005, 02:46 AM almost 13 years ago. Join me in reading through this old thread and posting about things that you identify with. Let's number them and start our own list.

I'll start and I am not going to try to strike the same tone as the original poster in that thread, but I will plod along in my own way.

 1. I remember the dice with the crayon to color them in with so that you could read the numbers.

2. My character sheet was a blank sheet of paper that was written on in the iconic No. 2 Pencil. The character sheets for a long running character would be worn thin in areas by repeated erasing. The paper would get very worn and rough looking from the constant handling with tattered edges.

I've heard of that, in some groups it seems to be a thing, but I've never seen it.

4. Being a DM and playing under another DM and doing a lot of "meta gaming" (he did it in your game too). Fighter enters room with carrion crawlers and you know you are going to be paralyzed with the first hit so you yell back to the group outside - "Stay there and throw a fireball in here, because you knew you had the hit points to survive it even if you missed the saving throw and because you knew the healing spells were available to patch you up afterward.

5. You can always tell if someone was really around bitd or not by the order they write down the stats.
