What are your thoughts on the Big Brown Book by Justen Brown? I have yet to read through it thoroughly, but it looks like it is a fusing of OD&D with Chainmail using the 2d6 mechanic. I'll post a more in depth review on it on my 'Musing on Original Edition Adventures Blog' once I've printed it out & gave it a solid read. I just wondered if anyone else has read it & if so have you played it? If you have played it, what did you think of the system?

I sent the link to Q Man, but if Admin Pete thinks it is okay I'll share the link in thread. It should be a legal & apparently Justen Brown is the mind behind the 2e clone For Glory & Gold, the latter you can get from DrivethruRPG from God Emperor Games, the PDF of FG&G is free.

Note: The pdf hosted on the FOSsil Bank page is a weird compilation of two copies of the same file. If possible download the RTF file from the same page & then convert it to a PDF file, as you'll get the proper 107 page file not the 214 compiled PDF file.

Yup. She absorbed all those carcinogens, and I'm sure Bounty helped.

(Howard Hughes produced the 1935 Mutiny on the Bounty? (the one with Gable and Laughton) That's one I didn't know. I should Google these things before I use them as fodder for puns.
And yes, I know that Fodder's Day was LAST month.

I am actually liking The Big Brown Book a lot, my only real criticism is that Justen Brown abandoned it before he finalized it. No covers and a few typos or what I initially assumed to be typos. It seems to be a neat fusion of OD&D and Chainmal with a few simplifications. It begs you to wonder why Justen abandoned it before moving onto create the 2e clone 'For Gold & Glory".
I can easily see myself running TBBB in the future and get the book printed in softcover at a local shop once I add some art to it to eat up some of the blank pages between chapters. I'd especially run this game if I wanted to use a baked in mass combat rules instead of using Chainmal or Spells & Swords. I'll do a full review via my blog once I've finished my first pass through. So far I am nearly through the core rules & about to hit the appendices, which include the spells, monsters, treasures, optional rules & a FAQ.

He was said to have discovered Jane Russell, but did not produce her.
