Assume 8 players at the table. If a party consisted of all 8 of the same race/class combination, what race/class combination would be the most fun to have a game with? And why do you think that?

I am going to go with a party of all Hobbit Thieves, I think that would be a lot of fun because they would be good fighters and great thieves. They would be sneaky as all get out and great with missile weapons. They would also be good at pulling off an ambush and great at hiding and escaping if it did not work out. They also IMO would be the best shot at getting in and out without a fight.

I would vote for all clerics. Healing once they hit second level and the ability to turn massive amounts of undead along with pretty good armor and fighting ability.

All Dwarven Fighters, they would be epic in a dungeon & a fight.

All human fighters is my choice. Can use any weapon and any armor. Tough, versatile and canny. Tactics, strategy and smart play will win the day. Knowing when to fight and when not to, but no weak links in a fight and always prepared no matter what direction the fight comes from. Fully outfitted with look tougher than they really are which will help in any negotiations or encounters. Bluffing can often win the day.

I would enjoy reffing any of these that are not multi-classed. For me as a ref those would be more fun.

All Human Mages: Ive always wanted to run an all mage mini game of them doing research on an item or spell(CLW for Mages) How do you envision running a game that is all research? What I have so far is, it would have to be very dangerous(gas, explosions), too hazardous for the young ones, summoning strange creatures , arguing over who gets to test it first. contacting unsavory beings and bribing /forcing(demi-gods?), outsmarting sentient books. Thats about as far as I got.

I often run my campaign as all the PCs are fighters and all other classes are NPCs only.

Best long term survival is human clerics. That healing ability and turn undead is key to survival and the other groups for all their strength lack that.

I will add that TPDs Cleric based Paladins (with holy swords) would be the best survival for any single class group.

I think I would try it with all Hobbit thieves. Good chance of never getting caught and unlike all the other races, only the best of the best ever go adventuring. So IMC they start with a base of 8 and roll a d6 and d4 once for each stat. That guarantees a min of 10 in any stat and good odds of at least a 12 in any stat.

IMO all human cleric has the most survival potential depending on what the campaign is like. If undead are used, especially if they are used a lot, you must have clerics. If there are no undead, then another choice like Elven Fighter/Magic Users would be a good one.
