When was this NOT an option? Maybe I should go back and read all the rules I don't remember, but wasn't there something about even playing a Balrog or a dragon as long as it was 1st level? (relatively harmless) I've been Chester Centaur in Tunnels & Trolls long before Xanth. If I was snarky, I'd say that it took long enough for D&D to catch up with TnT. In a related report, the Federal Department of Redundancies Department announced the devaluation of the exalt due to introduction into the economy of unexpectedly high numbers of exalts. The current value of an exalt on the international exchange has closed today at 74 rubles.
