I've often recounted the story of how I bought my first OD&D boxed set in a record store in San Antonio in 1975. Funny thing? I've tried to remember where I got the dice, because they were very difficult to find during those halcyon days of our hobby. I know I had them. My first game, about a week after I bought the rules, I had the one and only set at the table. I'm pretty sure I didn't buy them at the record store, but I don't know where else I would have bought them. Certainly nowhere in [small Texas town I lived in] had them.
