Oliver, Emma, and Suzuki head over to the scout base to talk to Ruiz. He seems a bit disgruntled as he invites you into his office.
"What can I help you with? Is there some issue with The One That Got Away or the provisioning?"

Emma makes sure she has the relevant forms and files ready for whatever might be needed.

"Not precisely. Although we *would* appreciate 'provision' of a missile launcher and some missiles to match, or even just an inoffensive sandcaster and some canisters."
When Ruiz - obviously recalling his previous encounter with Susuki - fails to look amused, the Imperial knight leaves that sentence lying dead in the metaphorical street and continues blithely, "We've come across a completely different situation with which we would appreciate your assistance. Our expertise has been sought by a local noblewoman in a very delicate matter . . ."
Suzuki quickly lays out the details of the situation, so far as the party is aware of them, concluding with:
"Any help you can provide - particularly in the way of up-to-date local information - would be greatly appreciated. My crew and I have no desire to make a misstep here, especially any which might result in Imperial entanglements."

I am aware that Lady Madelein's and Sir Patrice's father had been killed recently. I was not aware how the situation is developing. I don't doubt Baron Von Schloss's involvement, but it must be noted that we have little power outside the bounds of the star port. I'm really hoping the situation here doesn't blow up. Things have already blown up on Tegel, and things are dicey on Cheapside. Given the unrest, I have a new detached mission for you. Many years ago, we lost a Type KS (modified Safari) 200 ton Scout in the Klerkenwell system. Due to the politics of the time, we didn't recover it. I fear that we may be more in need of it, so I'd like you and Rockie to take The One That Got Away to Klerkenwell and see if you can find the KS. To that end, see the quartermaster to get Jump-2 and Generate installed. That will allow you to jump to Shedezar, then Koradin, then directly to Klerkenwell, bypassing Ludgates.
If you can get the Lady Madelein and Sir Patrice off world with minimum fuss that would be a help to me. If you decide it is safer to just get the lady off, that would be acceptable also. Unfortunately neither Col. Saylor nor I will be able to offer any kind of assistance, especially if anything goes wrong.
With that, I have business to attend to, please see Quartermaster Fenton.
p.s. sorry about the delay in posting. I wish there was a way to mark a post unread... I read things on my phone, or at a time I don't have time for a longer response, and then forget that you folks are actually waiting for me... :-(

Oliver, perks up on that last note, hoping that the quartermaster can provide some weapons along with getting Jump-2 and Generate installed, since they will really be needed if we are going to go try to recover the KS Scout. He also wonders if we have enough crew to bring both vessels back.

There is a Scout Base at Klerkenwell (though it's almost a skeleton), so crew needs for the recovery would be easily absorbed by your crew, once at the Scout Base, the KS would be repaired if necessary and otherwise brought up for active use and then a new crew assigned (possibly your crew, with some different crew taking over The One That Got Away).

Emma will say, "We'd like a minimum fuss as well. Good day, Administrator."
After a bit, she will say to her compatriots, "I'd like to see if I can dig something up again once we get back. Then let's see what other plans we can come up with."

Is the conversation about more armaments happening in Ruiz's office?

Is the conversation about more armaments happening in Ruiz's office? I assumed that, since we were clearly dismissed, we left, and had the discussion in the corridor. Also, please see my post in the OOC Thread.

Oliver says, "Oh, yeah, I wasn't even thinking about that." He feels a bit embarrassed that he was so focused on the armaments issue that he missed the point.

Right now, though," she says to everyone, "I want to focus on our patron's job. If either of you want me to focus on armaments first you'll have to say so."

I am thinking we need the armaments before we leave the planet regardless of what else happens."

Suzuki has been quiet up to this point, still in something of a state of shock . . .
Wow. That's the Imperium for you, right enough. Boot us out, then enlist us again right away as "volunteers" . . . without pay, of course.
Shaking his head, Suzuki returns his focus to the present and says, "Right. I suggest we split up and see what we can find on our own, then reassemble at the One in . . ."
He glances at his datapad for the time, makes some wildass guesses as to how long it might take to contact everyone he can reasonably reach who might know something valuable, then continues: ". . . in two hours. Sound good?"
[OOC: GM, I suggest that the rest of the information gathering be accomplished with appropriate die rolls and that we reunite the two current scenes into one. As it stands, we are going to probably have to eject Tab from the crew and recruit another medic. That doesn't mean that Jame has to leave us. He can keep playing the same exact medic character (stats-wise), just with a new name and different background. But there is no way that any new crew would lift off with anyone as obviously unstable as Tab remaining aboard, especially on such a small ship. The risk is simply too great.]

Armaments in my case, as a former marine, I should have some contacts and the brother and hospital in Emma's case, Suzuki either I both would be my guess.

Suzuki supplies, "I'm going to go hang around the Scout's maintenance section, talk to the quartermasters and grease monkeys, see what I can dig up. Components that don't meet specs any longer have to go somewhere. Maybe if I can find enough not-quite-junk parts, we can kitbash together a missile launcher or sandcaster."
