The Cloak of the Lurker, what is it, where did it come from, what does it do, what does it look like, and any other details you can think of.
Hmm, "Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men? The Shadow knows!"
Hmm, Let's see "Cloak of the Lurker", The Shadow (from old time radio), evil lurking in the hearts of men and Hmmm, just who was the Lurker, why did he wear a cloak and is it a cursed magical item or not. Hmmmmm, more things to ponder.

To follow up on my earlier musing:
The "Cloak of the Lurker" was originally the property of a 11th level chaotic thief, Yapphet Verdugo, who branched out into assassination in the service of some of the darkest of the dark side of Chaos. This cloak originally allowed him to blend into Lawful society and allowed him to get close to his targets by traveling openly to where ever they were by blocking "Detect Evil" (98% chance). He would then "Lurk" until an opportune time presented itself, then he would strike and disappear. He was eventually found out and killed during an attempt on the life of King Gueorguiev by an extremely cynical paladin (Eloison Michaelis) who decided that his behavior didn't add up. The cloak would have been destroyed by the paladin, but was taken to the King's Mage Rabun Eybers to study, from there it passed through many hands.
The full story is not known but by the time it finally reappeared it no longer blocked "Detect Evil" but had become a cursed item (+5 on the saving throw*) that when worn would work on whatever evil was in someone's soul and magnify it and cause it to grow over time. For each hour that you wear the cloak you have to make your saving throw or start acting on some evil desire that you have, each time you fail your saving throw you give in to an evil desire and act on it. The next hour you save against a different evil desire and if you fail your saving throw then you act on it. And so on and so forth. As you act on an evil desire, new evil desires start growing in your heart.
If the wearer is not separated from the cloak, he is in danger of the effects becoming permanent. Starting the first day, the chance is 5% and that increases by 5% each day.
*If for instance you needed to roll a 12 or higher on 1d20 to avoid the effects of the item, it increases that to a 17 or higher that you would need to roll.
Remember that Law and Chaos are not in and of themselves necessarily Good or Evil, although the "best" of Law tends toward Good and the "worse" of Chaos tends toward Evil. (Light and Dark)
