Hum, two weeks waiting for Matt and/or Oscar to contribute. I guess, I'll shuffle them to the back of the ship, too, and we'll continue with JR, Terry, and raikenclw.

Just letting folk know that I'm still checking in. Please post here if a new roleplay is opened, so I don't miss out inadvertently . . . again. And - once again - I missed the opening of a new roleplay by only checking my "Participated" threads . . . gonna have to stop being lazy.

I know I posted a reply to Peng's question about the party size, but I don't see it anywhere... IAC, Gil and Peng will make the actual delivery. The rest can hang out in the park or maybe just visit the church like tourists do. I'm cool. Been busy running a pbp on tavernkeeper lately, in my non-copious spare time. Peng is worried about the involvement of a local religion. One of the very few ancient writers with whom he is at all familiar is Kipling, "The Man Who Would Be King" being a truly timeless story.

OOC: raikenclw, please, continue to take the lead...you can certainly speak for Gil under these circumstances. Yeah. I can see that - since Gil and Peng appear to be the only PCs remaining in the current scene (the others waiting some distance away from the church/parsonage) - posting for both Gil and the Steward *would* pretty much be playing with yourself . . .

The Love Shack!
Tin roof RUSTED!
No, not really, but when Sally came a calling, it did leak, and leak, and leak, and leak! We had 8 buckets/trashcans/pans scattered around the house catching water. Unlike a lot of folks around here, we're high enough not to get water coming in from below, but man did we get some coming in from above!
The generator did well, we had power the entire time. Internet didn't do so well, though. That came back late Sunday/Monday morning.
Cell phones stayed up and I was able to contact our Insurance Co. and they got an inspector out to us on Saturday. We also got a Roofing Contractor out for an inspection Saturday. He came back Sunday morning and tarped our roof. His company got us a quote for a new roof yesterday. Only one of the other roofers we called has even called back, and he said he'd be able to come out to do an inspection/tarping next week.
Well, the first guy's company is local, been here for 40 years, is located about 4 miles from our house and has good Yelp, Google, and Home Adviser reviews...and their quote was right where I thought it would be. So guess who's getting the business?
As for indoor damage...it was all ceiling, insulation in attic, and plasterwork. A leak over a bed got the mattress damp before we got that bed moved, but I think it's dried out okay and may not even have to be replaced.
Outside damage...was limited to down limbs from our pecan trees. Some were big limbs, but no trees came down. Thank goodness! We had 12 pecan trees on the property before Ivan in 2004, it took two. Dennis, in 2005, took one. Of the 9 left, I think might lose one or two from Sally eventually. One had the top twisted out but is standing firm from 20 feet to the ground. Another is leaning a little and one of its roots is exposed so it's going to be vulnerable to future high winds. Once things tame down here, I'll try to get an Arborist in to see if either can be saved.
I'll get the games going again, probably, tomorrow. Maybe today, depending on time.
IAC, thanks for the well wishes. I hope all of y'all are safe. I know JR and Terry are in the Houston area and Beta is somewhere around there right now. Stay safe guys!

Glad you came through okay, Eris. We're good. We won't even get that much wind and we handled Harvey and 50 inches of rain, so this won't get us.

I'm glad to hear everyone is okay.
As for me - in the mountains of East Tennessee - all we're likely to get is some heavier-than-usual rain.

I'm afraid I don't know what to do in the action scene. Peng doesn't have a whole lot of credits, but if we're heading into the wilds, he figures he will probably invest most (90%?) of his credits in the sort of rare materials that are in reliable demand by starfaring societies. A quick google search shows iridium currently going for ~USD 1600 per ounce, while rhodium clocks in at ~USD 12,600. If we take these prices to be the going in-game rate in credits, then 1.2 ounces of rhodium plus sixteen ounces of iridium will burn ~Cr40,500 (almost all of Peng's Cr41,000).
UPDATE [11/17/20]: I just realized that Peng currently has only Cr41,000, not Cr45,000. So I edited my post above appropriately - e.g. by the time the ship lifts out, Peng will only have Cr500 Imperial remaining upon his person.

I'm having difficulty getting posts to "stick." I make them, but they fail to appear. All of mine are showing up, I cannot think of anything that would be different for anyone else. Generally when proboards is having problems it affects everyone. I will do some checking.

When I use the Quote function, everything is fine.

Let me try this with the quick reply - I do not usually use quick reply on the left, but always use reply or quote both of which are on the right.

I'm guessing it was some sort of time lag thing.
Because the missing post has since shown up in the relevant thread.
