Raikenclw wrote for me to roll up a character, so here goes...
Peng Silva, 987759, 4 terms, Merchant 3rd Officer. Pilot-1, Mechanics-1, Electronics-1, Gunner-2, Blade-1, Jack-o-T-2, Revolver-1 . Cr41,000 , Vacc Suit, Revolver, Blade.
Notes: Currently employed as a Gunner aboard The Clear Sails.
...so how does Peng Silva look to you?

Looks fine to me! I'm still at work but expect to be home in a couple of hours. Will check in again then. It's hard for me to use this vblamed phone well! 🤓

So . . . going by the stats, it seems to me that Peng was most likely the sort of jock who got passed through school because he paid other students to do his homework and take his tests for him. Given his social standing, Peng was likely pushed toward a career in the business side of being an interstellar merchant, but it turned out that his interests (such as these were and to the extent he evidenced any) actually lay in the more physical side of this career. In appearance, Peng is a small, squat individual - not precisely a genetic dwarf but only a few inches above that borderline - and rather a bit overmuscled for his diminutive size In personality, Peng is a lazy SOB who works just enough to justify his paycheck and not one microjule more. BTW, I figure his name is pronounced "Pin-guh Sill-va." This leads to the nicknames of "Pennie" (what his older sisters called him from childhood), the derogatory "Ha'penny" (an obvious reference to his lack of vertical dimension) and the perhaps-inevitable "Bad Penny" (an appellation Peng secretly enjoys, since he think it makes him sound pretty badass).

I'm not trying to rush anything, but is there any interest in starting an Interlude? By "Interlude" I mean a scene that may involve just a few of the characters which takes place at no particular time (perhaps during a previous jump from Somewhere to Somewhere Else) and serves to let us practice our (perhaps a bit rusty) PbP roleplaying skills without impacting the plot in any way? I have found that the introductory scene of many PbP adventures is where things tend to fall apart, with intra-character conflict that begins there carrying on into the larger game. Perhaps if we start with a "throwaway" scene that has nothing to do with anything we can get to know one another's playing styles in a low-pressure environment and avoid stress? It's just a thought.

I'll give this some thought.
