I am willing to Referee a Classic Traveller game on the board here.
Just so you know, I currently am Reffing two Traveller games and one fantasy game online. I've got 20+ years experience playing and running games online. I go all the way back to Fidonet Startrek forums and Vervan Net where I ran a Trav game, so I predate the internet in on line gaming. Yes, I'm an old gamer.
The game I'd be running here would be called Exploring Mantan and would involve the PC's doing just that...exploring Mantan.
I have been working on a small setting for a bit, Mantan Sector, Mantan Subsector, with Mantan system at about the center of the whole thing. This is My Traveller Universe using a mix of 1st and 2nd edition rules, and bits and pieces from other rpgs as well as completely house ruled things. You don't need to know, or even have, Traveller to play just be interested in having fun in a Sci Fi game reminiscent of the works of Poul Anderson, EC Tubb, Andre Norton, Keith Laumer and similar authors.
I will take up to 8 players and the activity level will be a post every day or two...sometimes more when things are hot and heavy, sometimes less when things are slow. Because I was in Makofan's game, now on hiatus, I am going to give his players first shot at joining this one.
The Beginning Scenario: At the beginning of the game the PC's will be transporting/escorting Chief Factor Lois Cho of The Delgado Trading Company to Mantan where the Chief Factor is going to set up a trading house for Delgado. The ship will be passing through mostly unknown systems and one of the tasks will be to discover and verify the "Stats" for each system as they pass through. Once at Mantan they can help Chief Factor Cho in setting up the trading house, explore the rest of the subsector on their own, or pretty much do anything they would like. [Think of "Getting Cho to Mantan" as the demo/training scenario in a video game where you learn the rules and how to work together. After that, I generally run Traveller games in a big sandbox...if you catch my drift.]
If you're interested, please reply to this post and once we have our own forum set up we'll move over there.
