Which system do you use to resolve OD&D combat and why do you prefer that system? If you do not exclusively use one method you can vote for up to three.

1. Castles & Crusades' Siege (variant of 3.5/0.0) 2. Tunnels & Trolls/Traveller system (based on attributes and skills) 3. Feke it. This involves so many factors, but mainly the two of (a) How well is it role played and/or (b) How much does it entertain me.

I have gone back to Book 1 because it's easy but, most importantly, FAST!

I have gone back to Book 1 because it's easy but, most importantly, FAST! I love Book One - it caused me to use Method #3 for my first game. Everyone died, but everyone loved it. Well, almost everyone died. Our sneaky 4-year old daughter got away, and with all our loot. She had immediately caught on to the idea that this was a game in which she could legally cheat. The brat. I am not sure it would have worked out using later "rules-bound" rules.

I answered ACS from the lbbs, but sometimes I use the variable weapon damage from Greyhawk, but I've never used the Weapon vs. AC chart in there, so I can't fully answer Supplement 1.

I use Delta's "Target 20" based upon HD.
Success is 20+ when D20+HD+target AC
I give HD advancement like this
FM: lvl = HD CL: 3:2 MU: 2:1
Works like a charm every time.
I give monsters a generic bonus to match up more with the LLBs.
Try it sometime. It is rad.

I have gone back to Book 1 because it's easy but, most importantly, FAST! I have tried all of the other methods(except the last two) from time to time, but I also always go back to Book 1 for the same reason, easy and FAST!
