Oh boy, I remember this stupid hysteria. Fortunately, it was mild in my area of Oklahoma. There was some talk and some quick discussions but not much more. I never saw any local book burnings or anything like that. I did see some of that garbage on the news from other states. Most importantly, none of my books or my friends' books got confiscated by our parents. There were some wild claims made - even from youth our age - about heavy metal records flying off record players, the secret ritual instructions found inside the D&D books, and similar stuff. We just laughed it off. I'm glad it came and went in my local area without much craziness other than wild claims. |

The Satanic Panic was just another scare tactic of the 1980s to get kids to "behave" that shared similar tactics with similar phases in the past where dancing, wearing makeup, or other silly things were thought to be "bad". |
