Here is an example of a Campaign to be Admired
By David Niemeyer
Flexibility in play style is a basic part of dnd going back to original dnd. That why old schoolers like myself have vast multiverse with over 80 worlds, hundreds of planes of existence and 33 dungeons each with 100 levels. All we need are a handful of maps and a few hundred monsters. My collection contains over 3200 maps and over ten thousand monsters.
My campaign is 3.5 dnd with lots of homebrew. It is too big for just one server so I use 5 servers on discord. We play by video chat with dice bot. It is free and we are flexible. We always have room for more players. I just develop the general idea and give them many options. We are set up for low to epic levels of play. Each group is part of the same campaign just different characters in different places at different levels of play.
Player choices are an important part of the game going back to original dnd. Just be prepared to give them consequences for those choices. I use 3.5 dnd with lots of homebrew. So creativity is a big part of being a dm. So what happens when they are not there when events take place. My monsters create diversions all the time to draw the group away from the main events.
