I know there are varying opinions on the use of AI generated art and some people are very passionate about their opinion. I can see both sides of the argument and I think I come at it in a practical sort of outlook. I can understand people being opposed to the larger companies that can afford artists deciding to use AI generated art instead. I think turning around and using that same line of reasoning on a smaller or a "back room" one person company is ridiculous. Art is expensive. Professional art done really well is really expensive. I don't believe in most cases that it comes down to people being either for or against artists. Things have gotten expensive these last few years. That isn't politics, that's facts. I've dabbled in searching for open-source art to use in my fan material. I'm not confident in it because I've read several legitimate articles that tell how people have discovered this open material is NOT so open. If it was just going to be used at home, I probably wouldn't care one way or the other and just use whatever I wanted because no one else would be seeing it. I want to share here and at my blog as well, so I had to look at other options. I was turned on to starry ai by eldrad and I have been experimenting with it. I have it on my android phone. There is a free option that gives you 5 credits every day; all you have to do is claim them. I'm using the text option that lets you put in a description, and it generates a piece of art you can download. I've done several pieces so far and I'm enjoying the results. I'm going to experiment a bit more and see what I can come up with for all of my monsters. Pictured below are two possible choices; one for a Bone Guardian and one for a Graxian Cultist.

That BG looks like he means business. Look out, Arnold.

That BG looks like he means business. Look out, Arnold. Thanks! I've been messing around with it and some of them are coming out pretty cool. Eventually, I'll have the "right picture" for each monster I made.
