Just published a supplement for Mydwandr RPG

Hello all!

Been busy writing, and I'm happy to share I came up a 200+ page solo /coop play rules supplement for the rules light (old school inspired) rpg called Mydwandr (put out by Olde House Rules).

My supplement, Wyrdwarden, is packed with tables and everything I could Frankenstein together about solo play including 6 full adventures for a full campaign to defeat the Lich Lord, of course!

So anyways, if you want to check it out, Mydwandr is on DriveThru and Lulu, and my book is also on Drivethru (PDF) and Lulu (POD).

I'm not sure everyone knows what Mydwandr is (on Lulu and DriveThru). It is a 60 page classless rpg based on skills that give advantages to dice rolls or abilities. Everything about the game is simple and intuitive with rules over rulings being the manner of running the game. The design was made to have all tests and combat rolls made with a simple 2d6 mechanism called doubles which normally requires a roll of 8 or higher to succeed. Combat rolls of 8-9 incur 1 HP damage, 10-11 - 2 HP damage, and 12 - 3 HP damage. Players can choose to be an elf, dwarf or human, and they must face 'hazards' which are a list of monsters, traps, natural disasters and the like. The game includes a really fine section on random magic items to really top off the game. About a third of the book includes a very nice world setting description with maps to set the campaign going.

I got really inspired to make adventures for this game, and started writing out index cards of new tables or quests for the game on index cards for a MeWe community forum. The members there took to my ideas and it gradually became a book. The community there is great because others are now trying to publish supplements as well.

Sounds pretty interesting, but that is way outside my budget. But I would love to hear more about it.

I hope so too! It's a supplement that I think has a lot of tools that are system agnostic as well, and could be used for other RPGs for solo, coop, or time stressed GMs who need things about NPCs on the fly and such.

Well, the folks over at the Olde House Rules blog just did a very nice review of my book, and explained my book more eloquently that I did. They also explain how it relates to their Mydwandr game. I think it is a good read if you want to better know about my Wyrdwarden book. Probably most of you have hard drives already exploding with RPG pdfs you haven't even had a chance to look at. But if you have room for one more (you actually should pair my book with the Mydwandr RPG), they are both cheaply priced. Anyways, at least check out the review if you are interested in a read:

Hello Muddywater! I'm not sure if you meant me, but I'm still selling some copies, and other writers in the Mydwandr MeWe group are creating material for the game. There is a book on monsters in the making and a 'zine of supplementary rules. My book tries to do all of that, but the more well-thought out books the better I think. And these are written by players like myself who are doing it because they love gaming.
