Ok, this Kickstarter was back in 2018. That was during my wife's final illness, so it was not on my radar.

I may sound like a “whiner,” but after almost five years of waiting, we can do it a little. Anyway, I'm not a filmmaker, so I can't judge how long it takes to create a product of excellence like the one you're working on. However, considering all the announcements of screenings that have been made since GaryCon 2x and now Gen Con, will backers have to wait until after Gen Con to stream it? We've still collaborated financially, and I feel we're not exclusive. I wish you every success with this documentary, but I hope it's not on Netflix before we backers watch it.

FYI this is the Gygax centric version of events where Gygax did it all and Arneson is a minor character at best is my impression.

In 2018 they wrote

This movie has been three years in the making and is now just months from being completed. We have dozens of interviews and hours of other great footage, and in a rough cut, it already tells a compelling story.

It is now 5 years later and over the next few months I should all be out.

Yeah, I knew it was Gygac-centric but I still want to see it.

If I recall correctly, there were 2 different documentaries covering this subject and they got entangled in court proceedings. In all fairness, if that's the case then I understand at least some of the delays.

I don't blame you for not being focused on this, family first.

History fascinates me and I'm always down for learning more.  What I really want to see, The Perilous Dreamer, is a documentary covering not just OD&D but the games of the early years.  Give me something focused on the stories of Gygax & Arneson (OD&D), Steve Perrin (the Perrin Conventions, Runequest), David Hargrave (Arduin), Bob Bledshaw (Judges Guild), Ken St. Andre (Tunnels & Trolls), Wilf Backhaus & Ed Simbalist (Chivalry & Sorcery), etc.  I think OD&D and the early games inspired by it would be a fascinating watch.

Yes, that would be interesting, but I don't expect those to happen in my lifetime, perhaps in yours.
