Inspired by the original thread in the Village Commons, here's a chance to stat up the Peeps! simrion and Morose I'm wide open on ideas. My first impression is they are low level monsters comparable in strength to something like kobolds or goblins. One unique feature is that they emit a magical aura that causes a feeling of disgust in their opponents. This will make it harder to concentrate so maybe a -1 to hit or something similar. Simply put, their strength would come in numbers. What do you got?

Maybe by an evil wizard with far too much access to sugar producing lands (sugar cane or something?) Thinking practically here. Of course they could be classed by color too? Certainly not flavor, maybe related to the legendary Sta-Puff Marshmallow Giant ;-) I could see powers like supper sticky or smothering or both! I can see the -1 effect from sugar overload.

Could you imaging a flock of these things raining down on an unsuspecting party like a swarm of stirges or something? Maybe they cause entanglement or slow movement because of well...being so gooey/sticky! No look what yous tarted with this thread

Here's what I have so far.
The Peeps are a menace appearing close to springtime every year. Encountering them outside of this time is rare but it has been known to happen from time to time. Many scholars and sages have attempted to determine their origins and gather other information on this species but not much is known about the Peeps at this point. Several popular theories have emerged to explain the Peeps over the years. Some believe that they are some sort of magical construct such as a new type of Golem, others have postulated that the Peeps are a mutation of some sort of existing monster, a connection to the legendary Sta-Puff Marshmallow Giant has been suggested, as well as the Peeps originating from another world. Those seem to be the most popular theories but there are many more.
There's a start on the fluff. Who has some ideas on monster stats, tactics, differences in color, etc. to add to this?

I like the idea that they toast themselves. When subjected to magic fire ,their AC gets better

By spending one hit point, the peep can "throw" a glob of themselves and blind an opponent.

A bit more info...Some brave or desperate adventurers have resorted to eating dead Peeps when faced with the possibility of starving. Regardless of the color of Peep eaten, there are some discoveries about consuming Peeps. The "meat" is a soft, somewhat gooey substance that can't handle much heat before it scorches or burns so most people eat them raw. The color of the Peep does not affect the taste and opinions are split between hating or enjoying the flavor; there is no middle ground. One thing is certain, though, it does NOT taste like chicken. The "meat" of the Peep can be filling to the person consuming it but that doesn't last long, and they get hungry in half the time they would normally wait before getting hungry between meals. After eating, consumers have reported varying effects. Some claim they feel a temporary rush [game stats?] while others only report a sense of distaste and disgust which [penalties added later].

Peeps have 3 HPs. Base AC is 9, for each month of age exposed to the air there AC improves by 1 up top a max of AC 3 at 6 months (exposed to the air, i.e. not in a sealed area) by the seven month the peep will harden completely and die of old age.
