Does anyone here The Complete Arduin books? I don't have them yet BUT I will be buying them this year. I plan of achieving one of my gaming goals by purchasing all of the available Arduin books outside of the originals.

Are we talking about the soft covers from the 90's? The two volume set that is larger in size? I have those, I don't yet have the Arduin Eternal and not so sure I'll get that. Haven't heard much in the way of positive reviews. Guess I'm just "old fashioned."

Thought as much Yep. I'm curious about the additional stuff like Arduin Eternal as well and I may look into it sometime in the future. I remember seeing the Complete Arduin books at my FLGS and I always intended to buy them but then they were gone.

I've been fascinated with Arduin since first finding Volume 1 in a discount bin back int he early 00's. The one with the Erol Otus cover (an artist who I've been enamored with since Moldvay Basic D&D.) Always loved the "Panora's Box" Dave H opened presumably after reading Gygax's comment regarding "making the game your own." Prior to Gary's turn to cash grab with AD&D and clamping down on unoffical additions. Love the gonzo aspects, love the sci-fi and fantasy mix. In The Complete Arduin I find the concept of fixed or low HP's intriguing as well as the arbitrary XP/Leveling rules. Really adds different flavor to the game and , honestly the low HP thing reinforces the concept of delving, avoiding combat if possible and getting back to the surface to enjoy your rewards!

The Erol Otus artwork was always so evocative to me! In a perfect world, I would have picked up that bundle of the Arduin Trilogy back in the 1980s rather than some of the other games I picked up over the years. I did, however, snag the last copy of The Arduin Adventure at the time. That book was like a version of the Holmes rulebook from a parallel universe or something.

I have it, just forgot that I have it lol. That's what happens when one has an uncatalogued accumulation that passes as a collection

The Semi-Retired Gamer I also have the latest compiled edition (I sold my originals, sad clown ) as well. Note, the Arduin Adventure is now included in any version of The Arduin Trilogy compiled editions (PDF & Hard copy), in the back section. A hidden bonus if you will, as well Caliban's Seat as an addition to Caliban the dungeon.

How timely! I was reading through the hardcover compilation last night, especially the acknowledgements. I love how Dave unabashedly appropriated from all sorts of fantasy and scifi, heck Elric and StormBringer apparently appeared in his campaign! I just love that gonzo vibe, must have been a hell of a time playing in his campaign.
