Proboards has an ongoing beta test of version 6 of the software. It would be a minimum of 18 months before we would have to switch over to it. What I was thinking of doing is creating a test forum with the new V6 and letting people try it out and push it to its limits. A lot of stuff for it has not yet been created. It only has the basic theme so far and no plugins have been created Etc.
What I thought is if several of you are interested, I would post a link here and when you join, I would give you mod powers so you could really poke around in areas that members do not normally see.
So who would like to be a mod on a test forum? Open to any member!

I would like to join the test. Thank you, there are several features that I would like to test, but I need several members (preferably at least five) in order to test those functions. Even if you only created the account and never looked at it again, it would be a big help. |

You don't have to do anything beyond join, unless you want to. I just need several members in order to test the functionality. But we won't be switching over to it for a minimum of 18 months and likely longer. They have been talking about this for several years. But I figure, I can take a little time here and there to be part of the beta test. |

I created an account as well. Even replied to a post. Thank you, I keep testing things out. What I am most concerned about it how much work it will be to recreate look of the forum or it our look will just move forward fairly seamlessly to the new software. |

I just created an account & test post. I was wondering if there is a way to add new fonts or not? Well yes and no. I did add a font to the V6 test forum I replaced the p in span with an x and the o in font with an x so you could see what it looks like as far as the code. But it does not appear in the menu, have to manually enter the font name as shown. I am exploring it and eventually I want to add some fonts to the forum the more you add the slower it will load, so it won't be more than probably two or three. Also the test forum will eventually be deleted by proboards, when the test period is over. But it will be a min of 18 months before this forum is switched over. |
