During a recent visit to Tulsa, I stopped at Wizard's Asylum to check out the used & bargain section of the store. I saw a few items of interest, but nothing really grabbed me until I saw the Talisman Core Rules still in the shrink wrap marked for 50% off! It was originally priced at $49.99 so when I saw it for $25, I knew I had to pick it up. I always look these things over to make sure there's no major damage or anything like that, but this was still in the shrink-wrapping. Occasionally, Wizard's Asylum will put a single remaining copy of a product in their discount section if it has sat for a while. Basically, I got lucky. I've been browsing the contents and randomly checking out sections of the book in my spare time. The hardbound book is 282 pages and in full color throughout with a sheet of tokens and a separate map in the back of the book. Rather than a perforated map, there is a small triangular shaped pocked that the folded map can be stored. I'll be looking into this a lot more and will make some posts about it in the near future.

Once you have perused it well, give us a bit of a review.

Wizard's Asylum, that is an awesome store name. I hope that eventually your work slows down some. The hours you are working are crazy. Hope you get to write that review sometime in the next few months.

I grew up with Starbase 21 and, unfortunately, the owners have all reached advanced ages and finally settled down into retirement so the store closed. They had a good run from the early 1980s to sometime after 2010. We've had some really cool gaming stores in the Tulsa area and fortunately we still do. It looks like OT is slowing back down so I will have more time available. I will definitely post up more information about Talisman and other games.

You seem to have a good community for games stores then. Glad your overtime is slowing down, hope you get paid for it, or is it unpaid overtime?

Yes, Tulsa has always been a good spot for game stores. YES, I am getting paid for it. I didn't take a salary spot but I got a "very pleasant" raise with the new position.

I know you have been busy with work and all, but have you looked at this yet? I missed this reply so I will answer you with a "no, not yet" but I plan on giving it a good once over this weekend to give a first impression post on the contents. I also took a gamble on the supplement TALES OF THE DUNGEON so I owe you guys two reviews!
