OK, great to see several people are interested in this. So I will go ahead and kick off taking a look at this House Rule Document with my 7000th post on the forum. I guess I talk a lot.

Under Determination of Abilities he writes his own description of each of the six abilities. The only real thing he does here is drop out the exchange of points between abilities to raise or lower the rolled number for an ability. Good call IMO, as I have never used that.
Bonuses and Penalties Due to Abilities: The only thing he does here is add some language regarding Charisma and Hirelings that was previously in a table. However, the limits in the table are regarding unusual Hirelings and he has made it more restrictive with the limits applying to regular Hirelings.
Under Character Classes he writes his own description of the three main Character Classes. He also takes some information found elsewhere and brings it into the description. While Fighting-Men get Baronies and Clerics get Strongholds, he did not add anything in or Magic-Users. This something that I do and that is allow Magic-Users to either ally with a Fighting-Man or independently build a Mages Tower.

Next up in the same section he writes his own description of Dwarves, Elves and (correctly) Hobbits. He gives Hobbits a +3 to Hit with Slings.
Switching Classes he just puts it in his own words with minor wording changes.
He adds a section on Backgrounds with a list of Common, Skilled and Noble backgrounds that one might have.
You roll a 1d6 to determine which type of background you may have and then choose your background from that column. I am not sure but I think he has a typo in this section, because he has the Noble character receiving the least starting gold.

After this post, I will let you guys all respond before I continue. Other people can chime in too, if the want.
Alignment is next and it appears that he would expect players to hew closely to their characters chosen alignment. His list of creatures includes many additional creatures than listed in the original rules. I will be interested to see later if he provides additional information on these monsters.
Next up is Languages and he simplified this section, dropping mention of Alignment Languages.
Next up is Equipment and he retains the Gold Standard and he adds a few items to the table.

Nothing novel here really, you are right he did make it harder to hire the people you need. Does anyone in any clone, call out the stronghold equivalent for a Mage?

Gygax should have given the bonus he wanted instead of an unnecessary reference to Chainmail. I would bet you are right about the starting gold.

I am sure that someone has, but if I have read it, I am not remembering it. That is a really good question. Hmmm OK, IIRC Adventurer Conqueror King is specific about strongholds and not just for mages, but also for bards, thieves and others too, besides the traditional fighter and cleric strongholds.

Gygax said deadly accuracy and so no one uses the same thing and some use no bonus even.

I like to have a pretty complete equipment list, because so many people lack knowledge of things to ask for. The standard is, if it is not on the list ask for it and maybe it will be available, but you have to know something exists to be able to ask.

Just when you find something cool and get in a mad rush to come back to these forums to post about it only to find out that someone else had already started a thread and there was some previous discussion here. That's cool. I downloaded it and I'm going to read through it. I am definitely digging it but I would like to read it in its entirety. Maybe I can add something new to the discussion? Kudos and an exalt to The Perilous Dreamer for finding this great house rule document!

You have really ramped up your posting since this was started. I just realized that I made 7,000 posts in the first 6 years and 12,000 posts in the last 3 years plus a couple of months. This is year 10 and my birthday is in 20 days, I wonder if I can reach 20,000 by my birthday. I need 784 more.

Not really, the way I saw it was using the Wayback Machine, I looked up the forum at or around the forum anniversary date each year and looked in a thread I posted in to see my post count. In my case I knew when my wife passed away is when a couple of years later that my posting went up so I looked at around that time and saw that was pretty much the split of when my posting increased. Just look at a few selected times in searching the Internet Archive for ruinsofmurkhill.proboards.com/ and then look for a thread that you have posted in. It might be a bit of work, but like I said, in my case I knew when to look. Muddywater must have been curious and did a similar search looking around the date this thread started.
