The latest issue of Swedish game magazine Fenix features an adventure for the upcoming OSR game Svärd & Svartkonst ("Sword & Sorcery"), and I was assigned to create the supporting image (which is also to be used as a cover illustration when the adventure will be published as PDF-files, both in Swedish and English, later on). The name of the adventure is "Apgudens tempel" (meaning "Temple of the Ape-God"), and the attached photo of the magazine spread below is taken from the official S&S website. The S&S guys apparently were pleased enough with the image that they offered me two additional adventure covers! Needless to say, I'm quite bursting with equal amounts of pride and creativity! It's been great working for those guys, and from what I've seen I think the upcoming game is going to be really cool. Concerning the new cover pics they want me to make - one of them is for an adventure published in a previous issue of the same magazine, but they wanted a cover for the PDF-versions (yes, English too!), and the other one is for an adventure that is supposed to be featured in that mag later on. I've just started to make some sketches, and I think it's going to be quite cool, if I may say so myself...

Well, I think it's pretty cool myself, if I may say so! tetramorph, you were actually the first one to ask me for RPG art commisions, and I'm much grateful for that. You have also been very patient when my work has been slow due to real life commitments and involvement in other projects... As I mentioned in one of my e-mails, I've started to make some new sketches for Dun Kells, and I hope to be able to show some new material soon.

So, Necromancer, do you additional color work that you've showcased somewhere?

So, Necromancer, do you additional color work that you've showcased somewhere? This is a field I'd like to explore further, but at the moment it's difficult for me finding the time doing that since I've started to work shift and have three little ones to take care of. I've experimented a bit, and I've uploaded some colour images to my not-very-updated online gallery over at Deviant Art. Those images vary quite a lot concerning style, technique and motif. I've created the full colour cover artwork for two more adventures for the S&S guys, in the same vein as the published pic in the first post here. I'd love to show them, but I guess I'll have to wait until they've been published... I've done other things as well - album covers, posters, flyers, ads - but I realize now I haven't been very good at showcasing them... Anyway, here's a link to my gallery: Necromancer's gallery at Deviant ArtThanks for showing interest in my artwork, I appreciate that!

Cool. Too bad you do not have more time to draw. Your line art is very clean. As a publisher of a new line (upcoming, which includes Kalibruhn stuff) I have started shopping around for artists. Let me know what rates/size for B&W that you'd charge by PM if you feel that you'd have time to do some future work.

Necromancer you do really good work. I like the fact that your line art really has a depth and a 3-D feel to it like the creature could step right out of the page.

Another piece of cover artwork for the upcoming OSR game "Svärd & Svartkonst", this time for the PWYW adventure module PDF "Out of blackest earth". There's a couple more cover pieces in the pipeline, but as for now I don't know when they'll be released. I'll keep you posted!

That is a really cool work of art! Thanks! It was mainly inspired by a Gary Chalk-illustration, taken from one of the old Lone Wolf solo adventure books! I also studied the colour schemes on some Iron Maiden album covers by Derek Riggs for inspiration!

Another adventure from the guys at Svartkonst has been published featuring cover artwork of my design. So far it's only available as PDF, but a printed version is supposed to be released later on. I'll just quote what they write about it on their website:
"OK, we have released a brand new OSR adventure. "The Devil in the Crypt" is a sword & sorcery dungeoncrawl with an egyptian spin. It is currently only available as a PDF, but a print option will be made available as soon as we get the proofs and can verify that everything looks peachy. Death will come on swift wings to those who disturb the tomb of the Black Pharaoh! Haunted by evil both otherworldly and mundane, the tomb of the sorcerer-king Akhenseti lies waiting. Within its halls are secrets to be uncovered, enemies to be defeated, and weirdness to be encountered.
“The Devil in the Crypt” is an OSR adventure for a party of 4-8 characters between level 1 and 3. It is designed to be system agnostic and compatible with traditional role-playing games."
(For those interested it's available at DriveThruRPG).
And here's the cover art for the English version:
