That's one of the best-looking and best-designed sword and sorcery maps I have ever seen.
I am curious about the 15-mile-hex scale. Any insight as to why that scale was chosen?

It's the approximate scale of my original map (which represents the western hemisphere of the planet). If you check out the "preview" link (below the cover image) here, the info on 5th preview page (actually page 4 of the book) will give you more info. The full-size printed map really is beautiful! (You should order one.)
