imageThe Sparring Construct is a powerful ally with many uses. The primary function is for training. It is constructed by a mage who must takes a small part of a warriors life force. This typicality drains one level from them. Forcing someone to give up a level is an evil act. Here are the main functions but they can vary greatly. Typically only 2 of the functions are on a single construct. They are 3-5 HD and Ac 4 Training function A: up to 3 fighters can gain a +1/1 bonus in melee from sparring w it Training Function B: One fighter can gain a +15% to experience points Offensive function: The construct attacks as fighter w/ long sword(his hit dice) at +1/+2 to melee Defensive function: Up to 2 adjacent allies gain +1 to ac and a second ally gains +2 to ac.

Interesting idea, I can see a high level fighter having one created to spar with his followers that are fighters to (over time) train them to be better fighters and I can see it used as part of the leveling up process.

I like the combined idea. There is not that much difference between 10th level and 11th level for a fighter so, I could see sacrificing a level at that point to create one of these. I would add that you would have to be at least 8th level as a fighter before this could be done and the benefits accrue. If a 3rd level fighter did this, the construct would not be good enough to generate the bonuses. I could see a fighter creating three of these and in battle their sole job is to watch his back and flanks. Defensive Function: The construct(s) fights at the same level as his master and __________
