Agogwe is a purported small human-like biped reported from the forests of East Africa. It is 3.3 to 5.6 ft tall with long arms and long rust-coloured woolly hair and is said to have yellowish-red skin under its coat. It has also been reported as having black or grey hair. Its feet are said to be about 5 in long with opposable toes. Differences between it and known apes include a rounded forehead, small canines and its hair and skin colour.
Almases are typically described as human-like bipedal animals, between five and six and a half feet tall, their bodies covered with reddish-brown hair, with anthropomorphic facial features including a pronounced browridge, flat nose, and a weak chin.
Am Fear Liath Mòr (Big Grey Man) there have been many purported encounters with Am Fear Liath Mòr, few eyewitnesses have seen the creature. Those who have describe it as an extremely tall figure covered with short hair, or as an unseen presence that causes uneasy feelings in people who climb the mountain.[2] Other eyewitnesses describe it as a large humanoid standing over ten feet tall and having olive toned skin with long arms and broad shoulders.[3] Evidence of the existence of this creature is limited to various sightings and a few photographs of unusual footprints.[2] Due to its abnormal size compared to other ape-like beings, cryptozoologists have placed it under a separate group consisting of similar primates aptly named "True Giants", a term coined by cryptozoologist Mark A. Hall.[4] It is traditionally seen as a supernatural being, but Am Fear Liath Mòr has been compared to the Yeti of the Himalaya and the Sasquatch or Bigfoot of North America. References to wild 'Greymen' in Scotland and similar creatures elsewhere in Europe, sometimes called Wudewas or 'Wood Men', date back to the 13th century, and are believed by some to represent relict hominids.[citation needed] In addition, nearly all reports of Am Fear Liath Mòr include the sound of footsteps crunching in the gravel just out of sight.[5]
Amomongo hairy, man-sized and ape-like with long nails.
Batutut is described as being approximately 1.8 m (6 ft) tall and covered with hair except in the knees, the soles of the feet, the hands, and the face. The hair ranges in color from gray to brown to black. The creature walks on two legs and has been reported both solitary and moving in small groups. The creature is most often sighted foraging for food from fruits and leaves to langers and even flying foxes.
Bigfoot (also known as Sasquatch)a large, hairy, muscular, bipedal ape-like creature, roughly 6 ft 7 in–9 ft 10 in covered in hair described as black, dark brown, or dark reddish. Some descriptions include details such as large eyes, a pronounced brow ridge, and a large, low-set forehead. The top of the head has been described as rounded and crested, similar to the sagittal crest of the male gorilla.[citation needed] The creature has been reported as having a strong, unpleasant smell.
Bukit Timah Monkey Man is a hominid-like, greyish in colour, and between 3 to 6 feet in height, with a bipedal gait.
Cherufe is an evil humanoid creature made of rock and magma. It is said that Cherufe inhabit the magma pools found deep within Chilean volcanoes and are the source of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Cherufe are also said to be the source of magicians ardent stones (meteorites and volcanic stones) that cause damage in volcanic regions. The only way to abate the Cherufe's appetite for destruction was to satiate the beast's taste for human flesh by throwing a sacrificial victim into the bowels of its volcanic home. Much like the European dragon, the Cherufe's preferred delicacy came in the form of virginal maidens.
Chuchunya is a hominid rumoured to exist in Siberia, Russia. It has been described as six to seven feet tall and covered with dark hair.
De Loys' Ape resembled a spider monkey, but was much larger: 5 feet 2 inches tall (compared to the largest spider monkeys, which are just over 3 feet tall). De Loys counted 32 teeth (most New World monkeys have 36 teeth), and noted that the creature had no tail.
Ebu gogo the Nage people of Flores describe the Ebu Gogo as having been able walkers and fast runners around 5 feet tall. They reportedly had wide and flat noses, broad faces with large mouths and hairy bodies. The females also had "long, pendulous breasts". They were said to have murmured in what was assumed to be their own language and could reportedly repeat what was said to them in a parrot-like fashion.
Gigantopithecus Blacki were the largest known apes that ever lived, standing up to 9.8 ft, and weighing up to 1,190 lb.
Orang Mawas is described as being about 10 ft tall, bipedal and covered in black fur, and has been reported feeding on fish and raiding orchards.
Orang Pendek is 2 1/2 feet to 5 feet tall. The body is covered in a coat of dark grey or black flecked with grey hair. But it is the sheer physical power of the orang pendek that most impresses the villagers. They speak in awe, of its broad shoulders, huge chest and upper abdomen and powerful arms. The animal is so strong, the villagers would whisper that it can uproot small trees and even break rattan vines. The legs, in comparison, are short and slim, the feet neat and small, usually turned out at an angle of up to 45 degrees. The head slopes back to a distinct crest — similar to the gorilla — and there appears to be a bony ridge above the eyes. But the mouth is small and neat, the eyes are set wide apart and the nose is distinctly humanoid. When frightened, the animal exposes its teeth — revealing oddly broad incisors and prominent, long canine teeth.
