Hi folks, I am back. My wife is doing pretty good and her energy levels are back up and now going into her next chemo on August the 3rd she knows what to expect. My surgery went well and was off work for a week but will be going back to work tomorrow on Monday. The tubes came out on Friday and I was able to use my cpap machine on Friday night for the first time since the surgery. I slept all the way thorough and my wife said it was the most silent night of our whole marriage, she woke up once and it was so quite she thought I must have gotten up and then looked over and saw me asleep beside her. She said all of the remaining sleep apnea noise is now gone. I am already feeling greater energy levels and no longer have a sleep deprived headache and I can breathe through my nose better than I can ever remember. Thanks from both of us for all of the good wishes and prayers! Glad to hear you're doing better! I hope your wife's treatment goes well.

Things are about the same so far, my wife has her next treatment a week form today. Her aunt recently had a stroke and her sister is taking her to see her and I will be visiting my aunt who is 96 the closest remaining relative on my mom's side of the family(my mom and my dad have passed quite a few years ago). My aunt plays Scrabble and she wins more than she loses, I have way better luck against the field on Facebook than I do against her.

Hey TPD how is you wife and how did Scrabble with your aunt go? Sorry I did not answer this sooner. My wife was doing better at the time. Since the 3rd treatment it has been a lot rougher for her and the most recent weekend she pretty much slept the whole weekend. My 96 year old aunt won both games, she had a blast. I enjoyed that. My wife has her 3rd chemo tomorrow and as I have been getting angry this week I am going to take a break from the site for a while and work on the pbp game I have planned for Oct since she doesn't need me angry. So I will be back in a week or so. Everyone please don't blow the place up while I am gone for while.

Perilous, hope that your wife does really well and that your family and friends are rallying around. Prayers for your wife and for you. Great to hear about your aunt, I want to be like her when I grow up. (My wife says, like that will ever happen)

Always, look after you and your wife first. We'll make sure the forum doesn't implode, just get some rest.

My wife has had a really tough time the last two weeks and this Thursday the 28th she gets a Cat-Scan to see if the Chemo worked. Then next week on the 3rd we see the oncologist to find out the results (hoping for the best) and find out where we go from their. My wife appreciates your well wishes and support.

We go in on the 3rd to see the oncologist and to get the results and find out where we go from here. Her older sister is going along to take notes, support my wife and to talk to her friend a newly retired head nurse with any additional questions and she got a list of questions to ask.

Kinda of a mixed bag.
The tumor has not shrunk from the chemo, but it has not grown either. There are two types of this cancer one is aggressive and responds well to chemo and one is not aggressive and responds poorly to chemo. In addition, it is possible that she has a type of cancer that will respond to a hormone blocker. So they are looking to schedule surgery (laparoscopic) for early to mid November (and avoid open surgery if possible) this will help recovery and they will remove as much as they safely can and then they will do more tests and then she will get more chemo or the hormone blocker whichever is appropriate. So very much good news bad news kinda day. So now trying to get her knee healed up and get her strength back for the surgery.
