It may be a lack of memory issue? worldmap.jar runs fine on my 2 GB machine Hmm, mine is new and has 32GB so it is not an issue of memory. However the version of Java you list is 1.6 and the current one is Version 8 Update 111. Would that be the problem?

Sorry no updates this weekend.I was out during a snow storm and my fuel pump went. Spent 3 hours in the car waiting for a tow, and was another four hours before I made it home. I was too stressed to do any posting

I was too stressed to do any posting Oh gosh... We had snow and then ice last week. The worst I got out of it was surfing down the front steps trying not to squash the dog. A few rounds of ibuprofen took care of the resulting aches and pains... On the other hand, we may get more snow this week, and the store was out of salt, and we have enough to salt the front steps like once maybe twice if I'm sparing...

Ouch! at least you didn't break anything! My grandfather broke one hip when he was 80 and the other when he was 82 and got two artificial hips out of it. I would like to skip that.

I remember when I traveled on one job I had, crawling under my car in the hotel parking lot at 5 below to bang on a starter with a wrench to get it to release and start (Dodge product)so I could get to where I needed to be. I replaced that starter twice that week.

Stay warm and stay safe, guys. I always try to be prepared to get out and walk if needed. Or shelter in place if needed. Emergency food and water in the car at all times, along with a few other items. Don't you envy small children, falls are no big deal, just part of life.

Take things easy and slowly, Mr Makofun - which I'm sure you don't need me to tell you. Won't try to match stories with you (we old guys are too good at that) but I do recommend the Richmond/Rosenberg area here in Texas, where it got all the way down to 55 degrees Fahrenheit Saturday. Right back up to 77 since.

Well, I live in Florida, just outside Pensacola, so about as north and west in Florida as you can get, but still Florida. We get snow about once a decade and it's actually enough and cold enough afterwards to stick maybe once a semi-century. Everything shuts down if it even threatens snow...heck if the bridges *might* freeze everything closes down and we hunker up inside shivering. Ice storms, what are they? I've lived here 60+ years and we have had one...2014. I waited three days for the ice to go away before going to the store. Well, it turns out that ice doesn't thaw in shadows and it's the same color as the asphalt and concrete it is lying upon, and very soon I was on my back! It wouldn't have been all that bad except my elbow, forearm and wrist crashed down on a concrete curb. I didn't break anything, but that arm was in a sling and my wrist was in a brace for a month and has been achy when the weather changes ever since. I don't know how you folks live up there where snow and ice are common, I really don't. Oh, BTW, it got down to freezing a couple of nights last week. Yay! I killed off some of the bugs! The Polar Vortex that is currently hitting the US, will get us down to upper 30's for our low later this week. I'll be wearing four layers of clothing, plus a thick jacket when I walk the dog!

Many pictures I post are NASA images I have taken and modified, but many Traveller-like pictures have come from the artwork of Steve Driscoll. He is a talented artist you should check out.

Here in Columbus we are supposed to hit single digits at 8 0F for two mornings in a row. The older I get the more I try to not fall as I am rather clumsy and sometimes fall when no ice is present.

I don't know how you folks live up there where snow and ice are common, I really don't. We learn to walk in snow and on ice at an early age. And then we learn to break dance. Also, we dress in layers.

I know it took forever to get this game started, so sorry that I have to slow it down. It is Christmas, people will be travelling, people are busy at work trying to get projects finished, etc. I won't officially shut the games down over the holidays, but I am sure my posting will be less, and some others might also be.

I got my flu shot yesterday, so I've got a sore arm, but that hasn't stopped my typing. The flu devastated the holidays for us...and on top of that work has now come on like a blizzard...I will need to step away for a bit longer than I anticipated. I humbly apologize to everyone but as we all know real life comes first.

Many thanks for hanging around, I allowed my enthusiasm to overextend myself. I am currently running 11 games and playing in 4, and it is just too many. Happily, within the next month, 1 of the games I am running and 1 of the games I am playing will be coming to an end. So we will just stagger along until then

Haven't seen any of you for a while and I am assuming that it is a combination of illness and being very busy at work and home or all of the above. A lot of my friends and family have been sick repeatedly for the past two months, so I assume it is that way all over the place. Hope that everyone is OK and if you check in here, please make a quick post to let us know how you are doing.

I'm still here, hanging around and waiting. We'll land soon enough, and then the game will really take off.
I know it's a bummer for your first forum game, but these things sometimes take a bit of time to take off.
