Blues for the red sun - I like that name, Von. I've been reading your now locked Using the actual moon of Saturn thread, and as usual you present a lot of interesting and thought-provoking stuff. And I think it's great that you finally settled for a name for I Guess You Actually Could Call It Titan! Yeah, I think Blues for the Red Sun is very cool!

Why thank you. Wish I could say I'd thought of it myself...

Oh, I thought it sounded a bit familiar, but couldn't quite place it, and was obviously too lazy to google it... Well, nevermind, it's a good title. And you know the saying: "Good artists copy, great artists steal"...

I had not heard that before, thanks for the link and I love the tie-in.

Checking in: I haven't forgotten this setting, but my interest has cycled on to Dark Ages Vampire for a bit, and I don't intend to trouble myself with obligations pertaining to things I'm not currently enthused about. When this rush of excitement over mapping Transylvania and gaming the Omen War has abated I will be in a position to think about D&D again and will return to work on the Red Sun.
It doesn't help that I have been stymied by choices regarding system and the operation of magic. I think the way out is through; gaming a partial version of the settings with the mechanics that I KNOW I want and then establishing ideas about other spellcasting classes along the way. I did have a post written up about the operation of the Cleric as an extension of Backsword and Buckler's Wise Woman class, but it appears to have evaporated.

Well, Von, it certainly is a bummer having to wait for more material to your campaign as I find it very interesting (as you already know). But I do think you're making the right decision here. Forcing the work on a creative project usually isn't a good way to go - it's better to wait for the inspiration to return and then have another go at it. Good luck with your Transylvaninan venture, see you around!

There is no reason that you can not post about your Transylvania project here if you want. Anything can be mined for ideas for OD&D. Not that you have to post it here, but you are welcome to if you want. While our prime focus is OD&D that does not mean that I personally am not interested in campaigns, house rules and world building in a much wider context.

I might cross-post some stuff here from my blog then. If nothing else it'll lend some insight into the prep work I do for games and how I go about assembling ideas.
That said, a chat with C. earlier this evening about the short story I wrote for this setting last NaNoWriMo has given me a bit of a kick back in its direction again. I may at least dig out and type up my Cleric notes or do some more work on the next bit of fiction.

Divert thine eyes unto my profile, seekers. Ah. My perceptive skills obviously failed me. Thanks!
