No Naval Bases. The Star Ports are E, B, B, B, C (first letter of the string) Yes, you would convert numbers to words, but you also need to add personal creativity. Why don't you start with one planet first OK, that confirms what I thought I was reading.

OK I have posted my first one 0704 Zxelyon and I need some feedback. It seems to me like either the government or law type need to change because Government Type 3 does not match up with Law Level 0. I tried to explain it away, but I don't know if that is how it should be handled. So that is my first draft.

Reading through dragondaddy's excellent Star Charter document, I see we should adopt a dating system for Murkhill Space. Could even be several, e.g. a League of Free States sysem, plus and Altairan system, plus a 'known space' system. I don't think there should be any Earth references, though.

Just want to point out that I'm heading into a busy week at school and a busy weekend with the BLUEHOLME™ Journeymanne Rules Indiegogo video, so I'll be quiet again for a bit. But I'll try to make time to read your new worlds, Mighty Darci - as makofan said, you're really on a roll!

My next goal is to get a list of patronsfor the subsector. Traveller uses Patrons as adventure sponsors/generators. I created 6 for Muskatoon as an example. Even one per planet would be awesome. Look at Muskatoon thread for the format. Basically, you define the stereotype, the mission, the pay, and then the possible complications

As a link to more info for anyone here is the link to the Citizens of the Imperium forums. (unless I missed it somewhere) This is a later edition of the game but some of the advice looks like it could help a beginner.

Well, the CotI forums do have discussion of Classic Traveller, including 1977. On the other hand, there are some vocal people who tend to sidetrack discussions... Frank

You don't need the SRD even. Just an idea, and format it the way I formatted it

Dagnabbit, is this project done? Is there a way I can contribute? It sounds awesome. Two things - Flight Commander - First please create an account and perhaps you can talk these folks running this project into opening up another sector to work on. Sedond because of spammers (not saying you are, just in general) these board are locked down to prevent guest posting. I apparently missed this one. Again join the forum and make your case to Vile Traveller and makofan to expand the project. They are moderating this forum and are in charge of this project. Dagnabbit, is this project done? Is there a way I can contribute? It sounds awesome. Well, the basic worlds are grabbed, but there's still lots of fleshing out that can be done. We need a lot more patrons - 6 per world would be nice. A few interesting NPCs would be good. Anyone good with ship plans, or planetary maps? Lots of stuff. Trust me, as a verteran of the sadly doomed Spica Sector Project, the world descriptions are just the start.

In fact, my original (but never articulated) view was after the basic stuff was done, you would work on other people's worlds. So, for example, if you wanted to make a world map, you could grab a world made by somebody else, read the basic description, and then put your own spin on it. Got an idea for an interesting creature? Design it and plop it on a world. The pirates of Penzance use Jump 3 Corsairs - feel free to design them! We should feel free to mess up each other's worlds IMO

T4 is - as you would expect - 4th edition. Possibly the least-loved edition, even behind TNE (Traveller: The New Era) - which, to be fair, is mainly reviled because of Virus, not the system.
CT stands for Classi Traveller, i.e. the original edition - but, as we know, there are edidtions-within-editions, so you have the 1st edition CT stuff which largely predates the OTU, and the 2nd edition CT which is entirely OTU-oriented.
CT = Classic Traveller
MT = Megatraveller
TNE = Traveller: The New Era
T4 = Marc Miller's Traveller (4th edition)
T5 = 5th edition Traveller
GT = GURPS Traveller
MGT1 = Mongoose Traveller (1st edition)
MGT2 = Mongoose Traveller (2nd edition)
I think there was a Hero System Traveller, too.

So am I understanding that CT-TTB-The Traveller Book would be the 1977 version?

Ok, I'm in! Let me know what I can do — otherwise, I'll try to just pick something up after reading through the thread.
FYI I think The Traveller Book was printed in 1982 as a new edition based on the 1981 edition of the digest-sized boxed set, but substantially rewritten.

Given the space lanes have been rolled up, it is plenty sufficient reference for contributing to this project. For those that care about details, here is my documentation of the differences between the 4 versions of Classic Traveller (1977, 1981, The Traveller Book, Starter Traveller): docs.google.com/document/d/1jsH-EgKvaR0mdbtJMj_Xj7X3TcYyZTqQGf-Gwu58PX0/edit?usp=sharing

Actually not as much rewritten as it might seem, in my comparison of different versions, I noted that most of the text of The Traveller Book seems to be word for word the same as 1981. It is laid out differently. Frank
