I listen to music only in the car. And yeah, these are great tunes!

Those gals ROCK! I can dig it because they're a real band and not a novelty act put together by a label to shake their moneymakers. It may sound weird, but I'd like to hear them cover something from Motorhead - maybe Ace of Spades? - just to see how they would do it. It would be very interesting to hear slowed down a bit and with a hard rock feminine touch. The more I think about it, the more I think that song would be great by them.

Shame they paid the price of being the pioneers. If they had had more original songs written for them, they might have broken all the way through. Of course, there were few ways to promote yourself back then outside of just performing on small venues constantly.

One of the groups that they paved the way for was the Bangles who started in 1981. Here are some of their songs on youtube. Fun note they were compared to the Beatles by some. By the way they did not have a lead singer, different member sang the lead on different songs. They broke up in 1989 because the record companies wanted one designated lead singer and it caused friction. They reformed in 1998 and are still making music to this day.
