This is post #60,000 happening in the first few days of Year Eight. What are things you guys want to see happen in the next 40,000 posts to reach our first 100,000 posts as a forum?

- Fanzine completed and distributed with uptick in new posters
- further talk of and compilation of the "refs' recollections" document I suggested some time ago, if anyone is up for it
- a PbP started when someone is up for it
- more threads exploring creativity in various endeavors
- discussion of applying Murkhillian gaming principles to other endeavors as well as to RPG settings unlike the implies or expected D&D setting
- squeezing every bit of insight we can out of the writings of Robert J. Kuntz
- more posters with their own sub-boards for creative projects of various types
- more interaction with our blogs (and perhaps posters like me, who do not have blogs, could even start them if they have something to say)
- production of a stickied post or thread that acts as an introduction to Murkhillian gaming, perhaps alongside a distributable PDF of the same ideas. As I imagine it, this should be accessible to anyone interested in gaming, not only those already familiar with various debates and schisms.
- outreach (if remotely possible) to people not involved in online gaming forums already. People interested in cousin-topics.
- Perhaps development of a couple stickied threads with ideas for MG-related DIY projects that can involve children, relatives, friends who aren't so interested in gaming. Cheap and fun ways to do this and that.
- There are many things not remotely required for MG but that can be fun to develop and share in a semi-organized fashion. I have my sub-board for "generators," there has been recent sharing of experience painting minis. I think there are some old threads about making terrain. More of all this, obvious ideas and innovative! No one needs generators or terrain, but both could be fun to have little sections for. And many other things.
- more interaction between posters!
(and have an Exalt for this thread, The Perilous Dreamer!)

The Perilous Dreamer great idea for a thread! hengest great response! Not sure I can add much more to that, but I'll see. Both of you have been Exalted. I will try to come up with a list of stuff that doesn't just regurgitate what has already been said. I would like to see some of the other old school games get some more attention. While I understand that OD&D and similar games will get the lion's share of the posts and content here, I would like to see it spread out to other games a bit. How about some new Cryptic Alliances, Mutations, or Artifacts for Gamma World? How about new cults for RuneQuest? House rules for DragonQuest? Bueller? Bueller?

How about this, The Perilous Dreamer could go through OD&D here on the forum, kind of like he did on his blog, except in more detail and others could comment too. That way we would possess the definitive commentary on OD&D as a community resource.

Yes. I only have RQ Classic (2E reprint), but I believe Cults have the best magic or most versatile magic in the game. It looks like that's how the Clerical side of things is handled in the game. You start as an initiate then progress to Rune Priest and Rune Lord. Unfortunately, I have never played RQ but I could try to delve into further information if anybody is interested.

That is a term a couple of us have been throwing around, Morose: it means Murkhillian Gaming. So (I think) not specifically house-ruled OD&D but any kind of sandbox-based, open-world, rulings-not-rules gaming.

(and have an Exalt for this thread, The Perilous Dreamer !) You and some others have plenty of stuff to put a years worth of blog posts out right now. But if people don't want to do a whole blog by themselves, maybe TPD could make a blog where a dozen of you could guest post, that way you would only need to make a few posts a year. Of course along with TPD, the The Semi-Retired Gamer has a great blog The Semi-Retired Gamer and he made 100 posts in 2021. His latest post includes material he posted here, so it is an excellent example how you can turn posts here into blog posts. A lot of you could do what he has done. TPD is bringing his OD&D review posts to threads here, so it can flow both ways too.

That's actually a pretty cool idea to take the pressure off of some people trying to blog, post, work on secret projects, etc. Exalted for that! Thanks for the shout out in regard to my blog. I'm starting to pick up steam and once my secret project has taken on a better shape, I think it might just pick up.

Fanzine completed and distributed with uptick in new posters I need to finish some of my portions and that may spur others on to complete theirs as well. further talk of and compilation of the "refs' recollections" document I suggested some time ago, if anyone is up for it I do not recall, is there a thread started for this yet? If not, it could be located in the fanzine area. Edit: mini-publication suggestiona PbP started when someone is up for it Yours is running quite well. I would love to see others, once my schedule of doctor stuff is lighter I want to get my game going again and get more active in the Mantan game. Also would be up for running a second pbp. more threads exploring creativity in various endeavors I am all for this, do you have suggestions for a list of various endeavors to jog peoples ideas? discussion of applying Murkhillian gaming principles to other endeavors as well as to RPG settings unlike the implied or expected D&D setting Great idea! squeezing every bit of insight we can out of the writings of Robert J. Kuntz That is a tall order and we have a ton of us own posts here, plus anything else we can access. I have some ideas we should kick around to organize an area to do this in and how things should be documented. more posters with their own sub-boards for creative projects of various types Yes, I would love to see this and you have given me ideas of what to do with my own areas based on what you are doing. more interaction with our blogs (and perhaps posters like me, who do not have blogs, could even start them if they have something to say) This is underway for me with the Men & Magic thread (251 posts as of today). production of a stickied post or thread that acts as an introduction to Murkhillian gaming, perhaps alongside a distributable PDF of the same ideas. As I imagine it, this should be accessible to anyone interested in gaming, not only those already familiar with various debates and schisms. Sounds good, this will be a project with some heavy lifting. Maybe we should come up with an outline for it. outreach (if remotely possible) to people not involved in online gaming forums already. People interested in cousin-topics. Not sure how to even get started on this, maybe with a bunch of blogs (a dozen or so) with a group topics and such. Perhaps development of a couple stickied threads with ideas for MG-related DIY projects that can involve children, relatives, friends who aren't so interested in gaming. Cheap and fun ways to do this and that. Sounds like a great project to me. There are many things not remotely required for MG but that can be fun to develop and share in a semi-organized fashion. Great idea and also your mini-hooks thread is awesome! more interaction between posters! I am always for more deeper, longer discussions. The Men & Magic thread (and the other threads to follow) I hope will be something where readers can take quotes and start new threads to discuss specific ideas and expand on them and tweak them in unexpected ways.
