I have something I could have added if it had not died in The "Great Flood" I had speciallized towers for wiz's for each of the schools of magic from later ed's of D&D. Each of the 8 school's Towers had an ability conferred on it's owner and the shape was dif for each one. Man, could do so much w this, should have been in the purple book. I Exalted you for the BUMP DAY idea. Oh cool! Maybe you can recreate some of it here? I'm not awake yet, so what is the purple book? Message me about this in a few weeks(once GE phase is over). hengest I can make suggestions or I can make my own sub tables , do not care either way. You could also do it and we can make a colabritive one. Again, do not cate.

Could easily come up with a few more features to roll for here. Number of chambers inside, entry / exit points, guarded by, type of structure on top...not to mention magical stuff...

Working on some ideas to add as well... Just some ideas that popped in my head. The entrance could be a door without a lock, a door with a standard lock, a door with a magical lock, a door with a trap that must be de-activated, etc. Any guardian could range from the mundane (guard dog) to something like a living statue, golem, etc. The types of chambers inside could be a workshop, library, personal quarters, secret room, etc.

Love it. These kinds of generators are great because they give you someone else's ideas that you might not have thought yourself. I'm going to roll up a tower and add it to my game world.

I felt like this was underwhelming when I posted it, and still do, but it's gotten some positive responses anyway. Thanks, guys!

Expanded version at suggestion of The Semi-Retired Gamer (with thanks) Wizard's Tower 5d10 to generate. In case of strange results, be creative. In case of boring results, be creative. Attached to1 - keep 2 - outer wall of castle 3 - free-standing tower 4 - not a tower exactly, but one of two very wide trees inosculated to each other 5 - airborne 6 - floatable (be creative with Height) 7 - normal-height inn in the middle of nowhere 8 - rock face some ways down from cliff and / or above river 9 - another tower 10 - doubles as water well, attached only to surrounding earth Height1 - ground height (more watchhouse than tower) 2 - ~15 feet 3 - ~30 feet 4 - ~45 feet 5 - ~50+ feet 6 - ~60 feet 7 - practically a beanstalk to the sky 8 - deceptive 9 - variable 10 - reroll, and it's crooked Inside (some may be bigger on inside) 1 - one large chamber (with stairs if necessary for height) 2 - a mausoleum apart from the workroom 3 - branching tunnels leading to illusory or real workrooms 4 - rabbit warren 5 - inset world of any size 6 - a comfortable space for a family with only the window truly set apart for the wizard 7 - entry brings to you the central room from which many smaller chambers branch off 8 - looks much like your childhood home 9 - you find yourself back outside, but facing a wizard 10 - normal, but unpleasant weather Defenses1 - insects 2 - rats 3 - astonishingly slippery to the uninvited 4 - poorly trapped 5 - purely magical 6 - falling rock trap, activation of which threatens the integrity of the tower, or seems to 7 - tiny men with clubs 8 - tippable cauldrons filled with molten metal, boiling stew, whatever 9 - none 10 - none for the likes of you Special1 - wizard much smarter than appears 2 - wizard rents from owner who has no idea what really goes on in there 3 - eldest regular resident slowly becomes wizard, loses power on staying away 4 - always quiet night inside 5 - wizard remarkably charming 6 - seems to be controlled by a lowly FM 7 - astoundingly many snails oozing around 8 - every object can speak 9 - on entering, you get a glimpse of the inside of the planet and know that the tower somehow leads there 10 - wizard tries to recruit you *** 10, 9, 3, 3, 5: Doubles as water well, variable height / depth, branching tunnels, slippery, wizard charming The wizard's home is "disguised" as a water well. Even at a distance you can see that it looks like a terrible and stupid force hammered something into the ground. Approaching, you see a bucket with no bottom poorly lashed to a winch. It smells like there is water below, but the rope is not nearly long enough. You cannot think how you would get any of the water. The well is pretty wide, and peering down, you see several small lights illuminating strange steps jutting out from the sides of the well. This is ridiculous. Having descended some ways, you come to a hole in the side of the well. Crawling into it, you find yourself in a tunnel that leads to three branches some ten feet away. After you take a single step in their direction, you fall hard to the ground. The 'floor' is slick like smooth, wet ice. A voice behind (?) you says pleasantly "I am so sorry about the mess. May I offer you these? No charge, of course." Turning back, you see a kindly, if somewhat sad, face smiling at you. The wizard hands you a pair of leather straps with jagged bits of metal sticking out of them in many places. He gestures toward your feet, then his own feet, which you see are barefoot apart from a similar pair of items.

After all this time, I just realized that I forgot to do a new version of the wizard's tower generator. So, here it is for anyone interested. At this point, it is just the generator. I will add some pictures in like the earlier version and I will also include a sample tower. Grab the bare bones version and provide feedback if you are so inclined.
