Hey, folks--
those of you that are fairly active members may be aware of my attempt to create a campaign world (The Lost Lands) here at ROM forums. Some may wonder where I got the moniker for this project, since there is at least one other such campaign with the same banner (I think it is Grey Elf's--I might need verification on this). I actually got the title from one of the lands Turok explores in my pc game(Turok--Dinosaur Hunter). That said, because of this confusion, I've been pondering if it might not be a good idea to consider altering my own identifier slightly. So...
1. Does this seem necessary in your view? 2. Would The Broken Lands be more appropriate? (Considering a massive catastrophic tectonic event has split the great continent up into smaller parcels.) 3. Or just carry on?

Tongue-n-cheek time, from my thesaurus: THE... [fill in the blank] LANDS, as hereafter--> missing, mislaid, misplaced, [vanished], disappeared, gone missing, gone astray, [forgotten], nowhere to be found; absent, not present, strayed; irretrievable, unrecoverable. I personally like them all as I like humor... But in your case I believe those I have bracketed would work. Forgotten lands is too close to FR, so, I vote from the above for The Vanished Lands! You're welcome. ...[Bows and quickly runs away]...

The Broken Lands sounds good to me and it would be good not to be confused with something else. Humour is fun if you like that (I do) and The Vanished Lands sounds pretty cool to me also.

I don't see why you're so concerned about it. Turok - Dinosaur Hunter was a good comic/video game, but it's how you present your world that makes the difference. All good DMs/Referees steal SOMETHING for their campaigns ... sometimes it's obscure, sometimes it's cliché. I mean, why would Appendix N be so important if this were not true? Call it inspiration or call it stealing ... in the end what matters is a good game enjoyed by all.
Incidentally, I'm very aware that my Northwind campaign is not entirely original, even in name. I know that the publishing group that sells Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea call themselves Northwind as well ... but I did check on it ... my campaign pre-dates them by a couple of years ... Oh well, I said, and motored on doing whatever it is that keeps my players coming back for more.

I like (and considered) The Broken Lands in the beginning. But I thought some might confuse it with that section of The Known World in the X1 continental map. If I decide to go back to this, I will have to amend everything posted up to this point.

Not to point fingers at CCC for your, "I don't see why you're so concerned about it," but long before now, longgg ago, people became concerned with every fiddly detail. My general take: The devil may indeed be in the details, but so is myopia in the minutia... I too find nothing "wrong" with Lost Lands.

I like "Lost Lands". The others are cool too, but why change at this point.

I think 'the Lost Lands' is fine, and probably won't conjure up too much of a direct link to Turok. After all, I'd be very, very surprised if Valiant Comics wasn't already aware of the connection between Turok's 'The Lost Lands' and Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World', or even movies/TV shows about dino-worlds: 'The Land That Time Forgot' and 'The Land of the Lost'.
To me, The Lost Lands, a wilderness where time has no meaning, would immediately conjure up Victorian adventure, especially if dinosaurs started showing up. If that's the vibe you're going for, I say it's already about as good a name as you can pick. Otherwise, any of the above suggestions could conjure up the same feel just as well, really.
