I will start,

1. The Lord of the Rings
2. The Call of the Wild
3. Everything that Robert E Howard wrote. Especially his Conan material most of which are really short stories.
4. Fairy Tales, all of them and a good place to start is with Lang's Fairy Books I reccommend these for two reasons, one is the sheer volume of material and the other is that they are long out of copyright and can be found around the Internet for free.

The Langs' Fairy Books are a series of 25 collections of true and fictional stories for children published between 1889 and 1913 by Andrew Lang and his wife, Leonora Blanche Alleyne. The best known books of the series are the 12 collections of fairy tales also known as Andrew Lang's "Coloured" Fairy Books or Andrew Lang's Fairy Books of Many Colors. In all, the volumes feature 798 stories, besides the 153 poems in The Blue Poetry Book.

5. The Bible (for both its spiritual aspects and for all of the different types of literature that it contains) and See item 4. A good modern translation of the Bible well-studied and read, is a good basis for life and for literary competence. The former being of the greatest importance IMO.
6. I am currently reading The Horseclans series.
